Gran Turismo 5′s Mid-Race Saves Still “Under Development”
With 24 hour endurance races available in Gran Turismo 5, one of the most requested features of the game is that people are simply able to save in the middle of the race. Luckily, Kazunori Yamauchi has revealed that the team at Polyphony Digital are still at work on bringing the mid-game saves, reiterating that they are developing the update.
After confirming that they were working on bug fixes and DLC, Gran Turismo lead designer took to Twitter to say that they were working on the highly-demanded feature [translated]:
Saving [in] the middle of the race is under development.
Currently, players have to play endurance races in their entirety, or leave their PS3 on while they take breaks.
Of course, Polyphony Digital aren’t exactly well known for being able to develop games and updates quickly, so this patch could be quite a way off, especially considering that they are prioritizing fixing their servers.

PD has no clue how to perform in the fast paced gaming industry of today.
meanwhile Forza 4 is just around the corner (inferior to GT5, but still worthy).
If GT5 had received some quick DLC, updates and less time in development it would be a whole different story
ill finally get all those endurance races finished!
No way do i want to leave my PS3 on for 24 hours?!?! Are they mad? LoL Hopefully you can save every few hours on the 24 hour races when they do it;)
It would be ideal and quite logical to allow save progress anytime you take a pit stop.
i’ve only done a few of the endurance races, i can’t wait til they come out with mid-race saves
I could never do an endurance race without either getting bored or just wanting to quit driving and do something else. They need the save option because most people don’t have the time to sit there and do it for almost a whole day, let alone keep their PS3 on that long.
I’ve done all the bspec ones but the 24hr ones and all but the last 3 in a spec. I raced for 8 hours straight grinding the 4 hr Nürburgring Enduro, fun times
