Street Fighter Producer Discusses Plans for Connectivity Between the PS3 and Vita

08/03/2011 Written by Alex Osborn

In a recent interview with Street Fighter producer Yoshinori Ono, plans for connectivity between the Vita and PS3 in the upcoming Street Fighter X Tekken were discussed. According to Ono, the developer is working hard to take advantage of all the Vita’s functionality to provide the best possible experience for their audience.

Ono-san explained:

First of all, it’s always fun to work on new hardware and try new things….We’re doing a lot of customization and tweaking to make sure it’s as good as possible on PS Vita. The really cool thing about PS Vita, of course, is the wealth of new features: Wifi, 3G, GPS, the gyroscope, and touch panels on both sides. There are all sorts of cool things that we can do with those. We want to take advantage of that and really encourage people to get out into the world with their PS Vita and play Street Fighter X Tekken.

He then went on to tell the PlayStation.Blog about his team’s plans to implement connectivity between their two platforms.

And we’re looking at ways to link to the PS3 version as well to get you into the habit of leading a double-life of Street Fighter X Tekken. When you’re out of the house, you play it on PS Vita and then you come home, turn on your PS3 and keep going.

The fact that so many developers are really embracing the technology this early in the game speaks volumes to the promising future of Sony’s upcoming handheld.

Hey Alex & “Pslifestyle” can you do me a favor and check into this. When they say Play it on the Ps3 and then pick up your Ps Vita and player it on there do you have to buy the game for the PS3 & Ps Vita seperately? or if you buy it for the Ps3 or PS vita you can play it on both? because if you have to buy the game twice then i dont see the purpose of this.

capcoms done alot of people arent buying that s*** because of how they did fan with the ‘ultimate marvel vs capcom” lol I know im not buying this first day It wont be worth it because they”ll make another version with more characters new stages etc and it’ll be called “super street fighter VS tekken” lol or “super turbo street fighter VS tekken remix” LOL!! capcom really messed up I mean how many times can you pull the same thing on people before they realize there being played for thier money If your still buying into the bull then your straight stupid sorry to say. The only thing I’d buy from them 1st day would be a resident evil game and thats probably it everything else I’d wait for them to do a revamped version. Mark my words people its only a matter of time before they do this months after its release.
