Final Fantasy X Gets the HD Treatment, Coming to PS Vita

09/14/2011 Written by Cameron Teague

During the TGS Sony Presser, Square Enix revealed that Final Fantasy X will be remade in HD, but sadly failed to announce a remake of Final Fantasy VII. This sure broke the hearts of many, while at the same time making a lot of gamers out there happy, including me, who loved everything about FFX – even Wakka.

The game was announced by Square Enix producer Shinji Hashimoto, who had no other details other than that the title will be released for the PlayStation 3 and PlayStation Vita, and that the game is being created in celebration of FFX’s tenth anniversary. Hashimoto promised that an update on the game would be given once the development had progressed further, leaving us to speculate how long development will last.

What do you guys/girls think of Final Fantasy X for the PS3 and PS Vita?

Why not make an FF7 remake instead? Pretty sure 7 was more popular then 10.

This is GREAT news for me, i loved that game!!!!

I’ll get it since I never had the chance to finish the PS2 version. What’s up with them with FF7 remake? Their fans has been begging for a remake for almost a decade now. FF7 is guaranteed to sell 1 million copies at the very least.

  4. lebronjc says:

they should include FFX-2 too, bundle it together with FFX and everyone will be happy.

this is awesome. One of the best FF titles up there. l’ll probably get the vita version

  6. YES! Best announcement i’ve heard today!

  7. the next question is which version of FFX will be in HD the regular or the Japanese exclusive International Edition.

    • could be interesting , like for example the version of ico they used was the European version which had content left out over here , or the splinter cell games were the pc versions for the ps3. i’m sure they’ll use whatever version is the best.

      • @abercrombieco2: the international version of X is the english version with extra bosses (about 11 of them I believe) and Anima having multi-hit overdrive. I hope that is that one because those Bosses are more difficult than Omega Weapon

I’ve came to terms that they will never remake part 7, just every FF game around it. lol sucks…

  9. Silenus says:

When I read the headline I was concerned that I wouldn’t be able to play it as I’m not one for portable gaming. But now that my concerns have been proven wrong I’m certainly going to pick it up.

  10. This is moreof a remaster then a remake. What about ff12? Or even having the 360 port of ff11 on psn? I can’t wait though.

  11. whywai says:

FF10 has one of the best story in the series! Will they remaster FF10-2 as well? since i didnt get to play that in the past… ;)

  12. andreios says:

Finally Square Enix makes a good move! Can’t wait to play FFX again!

  13. This is really exciting. I love the concept of huge RPGs on handhelds. Nothing like taking down a boss or grinding while you wait.
