Battlefield 3 Has 99 Problems But Call of Duty Ain’t One

09/23/2011 Written by Anthony Severino

EA has sent over a teaser trailer for their upcoming Battlefield 3 broadcast television spot featuring Jay-Z’s “99 Problems“. Battlefield 3 has 99 problems, it seems, but Call of Duty ain’t one.

Battlefield 3‘s hype is at an all-time high, but it still has room to build considering the beta has yet to kick off. When it does on the 29th of this month, Battlefield 3 officially becomes a contender to knock Call of Duty from its throne.

Check out the video below:

The full TV spot is set to air on September 26th, likely to build excitement for the Battlefield 3 beta on September 29th. In related news, Battlefield 3 will be getting one-week timed-exclusive DLC on the PS3. Other consoles will have to wait a week to get what the PS3 already has.

Battlefield 3 releases this October.

  1. Wow, what the ****? Of all the songs they could have used, why the hell that? Damn, if they really want to beat CoD, they need some waaaaaaaaay better marketing. I’m sure the game will be better, but a shit preview like that AIN’T gonna make sales – That’s their main problem.

I’m a big Battlefield fan. That being said, after having seen this trailer I’m having second thoughts. This was a terrible trailer. It makes no sense. They did manage to make it resoundingly clear that a ***** is not their problem… I guess that’s good.

Unless they pay attention to the ***** in that tank though, they’re going to get ****** up. Or maybe a collapsing building will **** them. Or a ******* enemy soldier with a ***** grenade ******* launcher will **** them? But at least they don’t have to worry about *******.

    Seriously though, WTF?

  3. lol at above comments

that trailer was a tease of the scale of combat, destruction and in your face attitude that will make BF3 one if not the best game released this year

On this we agree. BF3 is shaping up to be a fantastic game. It is definitely one of my more anticipated titles for this year. I’m not about to let a little Jay-Z trailer dim my excitement.

      • that is the way of the gamer my friend
        :)

      • Oh it won’t dim my excitement either, game definitely looks fantastic, and I’ve been hungrily waiting for it for what seems like forever. I just think it’s a really, really dumb ad. Give me the game assets and I could make a better one while sitting on the toilet, blindfolded, and drunk.

  4. Did you heard that @noob !!!!!!

You got 99 problems and MW3 subscription fees is one of them…. just like i said, heavy bullshit is on your way.

Hopefully they will listen to others and change the music tracks or maybe the lyrics since using the word that rhymes with itch is not fitting for a game you want to sell to kids under 16…

  6. i dont think i want a game with 99 problems lol…please no day 1 patch fixes! jkjk

  7. If you think, you can see what EA tried to do there.

im not a huge FPS fan but even i get sick of the highschoolers. They need to be doing their homework instead. as far as the 99 problems as long as they aint has bad as the hundreds of problems BF2 has right now it will be alright :P

    • SPD55 says:

99 Problems does not refer to bugs in the program or even gameplay it refers to the problems that Military Combat between opposing forces encounter when you initiate your plan of attack and the enemy does some thing different than what you planned on to achieve your goal. Then you have to rethink the missions objective and either let the squads on the ground adapt or retreat and find another way to accomplish the task…

I realise that there will be bugs/glitches day one with the servers for MP but there should be no real issues with the Campaign mode. And I look forward to completing most of the Campaign before even touching MP mode.

  9. i sure wish i had the time to thumbs down every comment on every news article on this site…but i dont, because i actually have shit that matters to do

soo cod is the ***** i take it?

  11. giese095 says:

we need to stop talking about BF3 knocking COD off of its throne…I’m just saying that I think it’s been made pretty clear by video gamers as a whole that the hardcore gamers that pay attention to every aspect of a game and judge them based on those aspects have made their decision…and Battlefield is the better series. I personally don’t care if sales figures ever show which game is truly “better.” I would love to see smaller studios supported for their amazing games, that often times we all think are better than the giants, with the sales figures that COD receives but that just isn’t the reality of the industry and as long as the casual gamer exists it won’t be. I don’t want to see the end of the casual gamer either simply because without them the industry wouldn’t be as large as it is today so they are necessary for the industry to continue to grow.
