Skyrim Install is Modest Despite Game’s Enormous Size

The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim is almost here, and is just about ready to begin eating away time for millions of RPG fans. But before you go out and get the game, you need to make sure you have enough space on your hard drive to install it first.

Despite its vast world size and almost unparalleled amount of content, Skyrim will only require 5.5GB of hard drive space for its install. The previous Elder Scrolls title, Oblivion, didn’t require an install at all, but was left with some minor annoyances as a result. Skyrim‘s new and improved engine along with said install may very well eliminate many of the problems PS3 owners have faced with Bethesda products this generation, which is a good thing when you consider that it’s arguably the biggest release of the year.

Bethesda will be releasing Skyrim this Friday, on November 11th. Be sure to clear some room on your hard drive this week so you can throw the game in and start playing as soon as you get it.
