A brand new trailer for the PS Vita exclusive Uncharted: Golden Abyss has been released. The new footage is intended to promote the upcoming Japanese release, so if you are not fluent in Japanese don’t expect to really understand any of the trailer’s narration. That doesn’t stop you from enjoying the pretty pictures, however.
In the trailer we see Nathan Drake and a female companion agree to some sort of partnership, presumably to find an ancient relic of some kind (if the previous Uncharted games are any indication). We get a lot of wonderful action scenes as well, with falling debris and collapsing structures. At the end of the two minute long trailer, we get an in-depth look at the control school including the touch based gestures used for quick time events.
Uncharted: Golden Abyss was one of the first titles showcased for the PS Vita back in January. It will be released in Japan on December 17th and in North American on February 22nd, 2012.
Drake looking for treasure? CHECK
Hot chick? CHECK
Funny guy who is nice but screws things up? CHECK
Bad guys chasing after treasure too? CHECK
Lots of climbing? CHECK
Buildings falling apart? CHECK
Not saying all this is a bad thing, but it’s seriously lacking innovation. More Uncharted is always good, but I hope there isn’t any after this. The games are awesome but Sony shouldn’t milk the franchise anymore.
What did you expect? a RTS?
IT’S MY UNCHARTED AND I WANT IT NOW
