Small Change Made To AT&T’s 3G Data Plans For PlayStation Vita

01/23/2012 Written by Nick Michetti

A short time ago, AT&T officially announced the pricing details for the PlayStation Vita’s US 3G data plans. One of the plans has since been slightly changed.

At CES, AT&T representatives had revealed that the pricing for Vita’s 3G data plans were as follows: $15 for 250MB or $25 for 2GB. Now, the $15 for 250MB plan remains the same, but instead of $25 for 2GB, the other plan is now $30 for 3GB. No other changes to the plans have been made.

The Wi-Fi + 3G PlayStation Vita will be available in the U.S. as part of the First Edition bundle for release on February 15th for $349.99. The bundle includes a 4GB Memory Card, a case, and a copy of Little Deviants. The non-bundled Wi-Fi + 3G Vita will also be available in North America on February 22nd for $299.99.

What do you think about the changes made to AT&T’s 3G Vita data plans? Are you buying a Wi-Fi + 3G Vita? Let us know in the comments below.

  1. Just got back from paying my baby off an hour ago i’m happier than that N64 kid atm, sold my 360 and ipod touch 3g on ebay and got enough to get the first edition bundle and a copy of ultimate marvel vs capcom 3 along with it. Just can’t wait until the 15th to play it.

I was gonna go for just the WiFi only variant but the gamestop employee convinced me the 1st edt. bundle was the way to go because of the included game and MC so I bit and now i’ll probably get 3G just for the hell of it cause I already have them as my home phone and internet provider.

I was considering it for the GPS but with the increase in monthly fees I believe now I will just buy a dedicated GPS from Garmin or other provider.

  3. I went ahead and canceled mine. I going to wait till they have the remote play worked out or they drop the price. Everything I hear i am not that excited.Seems like the sales in Japan are a disappointment , which might mean that it is not that good. $100 for the 32gb memory card is steep. I will stick with my psp for right now. I had no intention of getting the AT&T vita.

  4. I really tired of people and their , “It’s not doing good in japan so that means it’s not good” or “Japan loves Sony, it’s their home land, so if they don’t buy it, that means it’s crap”.

First of all, Nintendo was also born in japan.

Everybody knows that Nintendo is always going to do better than Sony , simply because they have a mascot that everyone is familiar with; and love.

Also because Nintendo is attractive to the female crowd ; who claim not to be gamers , as it’s “cute”

Whereas PSP/ PSV is simply more attractive to guys who love technology. ( that’s not to say girls won’t pick it up…just , it wont attract non-gamers like the 3ds )

Price wise – Haven’t you learned your lesson , Sony gives you a great with amazing device innovation and capabilities device at a great price and you complain.

  5. I can understand about AT&T , but they will drop their price soon enough, just a matter of time.
When that happens and your stuck with wi-fi….Don’t say anything.

3G is an Option (a nice one to have)…their not forcing it on you

SPD55….. im sorry, let me this if i got this right… you were gonna spend 300 bucks on a gaming device to use it as a GPS???? You do know that the 3G is there for other things as well…. right?
Or were you deciding between the 3G and Wi-Fi? (that seems more logic) lol
    Cheers

I will be getting the WiFi only and using my iPhone 4 as a HotSpot as needed.
