The famed game director and character designer Tetsuya Nomura has just let the cat out of the bag; Square Enix has ”a secret team working on an unannounced title”.
In an interview with Famitsu, Nomura discussed the impending anniversaries of the Final Fantasy and Kingdom Hearts series – which will be turning 25 and 10, respectively – as well as his upcoming 3DS game, Kingdom Hearts Dream, Drop, Distance.
Considering the fact that fans have been clamoring for Kingdom Hearts 3 ever since the second game’s release way back in 2006, one would think another trip to the Disney-Final Fantasy hybrid universe would be a no brainer. Though, there’s always the possibility that it’s an entirely new franchise, or dare I say, a Final Fantasy VII remake, but it looks like we’ll have to wait a while until we find out more, as Nomura has said that there’s but a ”chance that some information about that will be announced this year too.”

im keeping my fingers crossed for secret of evermore 2
I hope it is KH3. Even though I think it’s for the younger audience, I still had fun with KH1-2.
You and me both. I cant believe its almost been a whole console gen and not a peep about KH3.
Man I really want a KH3, we all know the inevitable fight with Rinzler will be epic!
I know its kingdom hearts 3 or possibly an HD remake of 1&2 before Kingdom hearts 3. Either way it has something to do with the series since Nomura discusses Final Fantasy and kingdom Hearts in an interview while stating he has a secret team working on something. To many giveaways and hints on that.
Here’s an idea, how about they finish and release FF Versus XIII first.
It better not be Final Fantasy 13-3 >_>.
GODDAMN IT NOMURA, BUCKLE THE HELL DOWN AND FINISH VERSUS XIII!!! FFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU
Sorry about that… but yeah, I mad. It feels like Versus XIII is going after Duke Nukem Forever’s “Most famous vaporware” crown. Meanwhile with each spinoff KH is becoming more and more angsty and convoluted and the only thing that could make me care about the series after playing those average (at best) spinoffs would be a core title made for an actual console.
Unless this “new game” announcement is KH3 I’m gonna be super pissed
even if they announce KH3, it wont be out until 2014…
The last time this happened, we got a polarizing DS game (Final Fantasy Gaiden: 4 Warriors of LIght)
