If you just can’t seem to get enough of DICE’s military first-person shooter Battlefield 3, Electronic Arts has just the announcement you’ve been waiting for. A fresh batch of downloadable content is headed to Battlefield 3 very soon and EA is planning to reveal it next week.
During EA’s quarterly financial report, Vice President of Investor Relations Peter Ausnit teased the upcoming content, saying:
We’ve got plans for all of our major franchises to turn them into more of… games for service that have a constant flow of downloadable content. You’re going to hear some announcements from us on Battlefield actually as early as next week in an event we’ve got in New York.
No word yet on exactly what the downloadable content will provide, though we’ll be sure to let you know as soon as EA fills us in on what to expect. In the meantime, let us know what you’d like to see DICE add to the game’s multiplayer in the comments below.

I hope new weapons, vehicles and dog tags are included.
how about a update to get rid of ENDLESS flares for choppers and jets? Or a fuel limitation.
Or perhaps an actual lock on missle that a flare can’t confuse. FYI flares usually only work on heatseakers not laser guided missles.
New weapons; CO-OP weapons unlockeable on multiplayer through assignments or something, put the claymore option in recon class, and rocket launchers in assault class, SOFLAM in engineer class.
Flares don’t need to be changed – it’s designed specifically to encourage team work. Laser sighting requires two people (sighting, firing), but firing two or more stingers in tandem with a team mate works just as well. Or, having a wingman in a jet, so you both lock on and fire one after the other. Or, have one guy in the jet, and another on the ground with a stinger. etc. etc.
And uh, you contradicted yourself – there is a lock on missile a flare can’t confuse, it’s called Javelin + Laser sight = one hit helicopter/jet kills. Woo! SOFLAMs save the day. Seriously, not enough people use those things but they pack power, way more damage is done to anything that’s gotten lased.
A couple other things to try – throw C4 on a jet/chopper, crash it into an opponent helicopter (or jet, if you have good aim), bail, and blow the c4 simultaneously. Kinda cheap, but it works as a great kamikaze taxi to the objectives. Or, get in a vehicle with an LMG or HMG and fire at the choppers – it’s surprising how quick they go down, especially if you kill the guy that’s probably repairing the thing.
Me? I get the greatest satisfaction from going old school and fly swatting helis with the good ol’ RPG, or primary tank cannon. It’s rare, but damn that feels good.

We need new MAPS!!! Some snow , rain or even a sand storm would be nice. Why does it stop raining just before we enter Grand Bazaar… Let it rain!!! (We would love to see this environmental effect. Climate change and time change… Let the sun set… We would love to play in the dark on DAMAVAND PEAK or WAKE ISLAND)
“…games for service that have a constant flow of downloadable content.”
You should read
“…games for service that have a constant flow of cash.”
All I want is an H&K MP5.
Announcing the announcement…great! Hopefully we don’t have to wait months to actually get the content.
