First Screens of ‘LittleBigPlanet Karting’ Shown on Leaked Ad
After rumors of a LittleBigPlanet Kart game made the rounds earlier today, a new ad, presumably from Destination PlayStation, gives the first look at the game.
The following pic was posted on Twitter by @leklack:
We can’t confirm the image, but it would be a remarkably good fake in such a short time. While the in-game screens are a little blurry, it looks like the game is at the same graphical level as LittleBigPlanet 2. The images show third-person racing from a raised back view, unlike previous LBP games which were side on. Play, Create, Share will also be part of the game, once again begging the question: Why are Sony making this if they already have ModNation Racers?
PSLS has also received unconfirmed reports over Twitter about a survey Sony conducted about the game that said that LBP 1 and 2 costumes would be transferable, and that it had weapons and combat.
With Destination PlayStation being a retailer focused event, one would think that the game would be a full retail release, but nothing has been confirmed as of yet. Stick to PSLS for more as it is uncovered.

IMO this would be a great $15 PSN title.
That looks legit. I don’t see the need really, but I’ll reserve judgement until after I get my hands on the game. Oh also this feels like a Vita game, despite the top of the poster saying PS3…Maybe cross-platform?
I see this being a little less linear than mod nations which is why I would like to play it, along with the typical track races I can see them allowing you to build open arena styled levels allowing twisted metal type gameplay, also you will probably be able to craft your own sorts of wacky weapons instead of being stuck with what the devs provide you. I’m really interested in learning more about this.
A key selling point for me on this is if the costumes from the other games are compatible with this game as well.
“Why are Sony making this if they already have ModNation Racers?” This is the same thought I immediately had.
Did Sony just decide that ModNation Mods are just not iconic enough for them and they want LBP’s Sackboy to the the mascot for Sony?
The thing I like about ModNation is that not only do you get to share tracks, but also characters and karts. Currently, there’s no way to easily share Sackboys you created in LBP the way Modnation does, let alone the customization on Mods has way more depth than Sackboys on LBP.
I just find this very bizarre. It’s almost not necessary.
Good choice. I want more kart racing. Besides, Sackboy appeals to a different audience than the Modnation characters.
I would rather have a ‘authentic’ LBP Kart racer
than some rubbish off ModNation Racers that someone has done that sort of looks like a LBP level & sort of looks like CUTE-AS-F**K Sack-boy(no offense to the cool online creators tho) LoL
Why would I need this if ModNation Racers sounds much more fun.. AND nooor did I mention, Nintendo also had 2 kart franchises back in the N64 days, Diddy Kong Racing + Mario Kart.
If I’m not mistaken, Mario Kart is a Nintendo game and Diddy Kong Racing is a Rare game so the N64 didn’t have two Nintendo kart games.
IMO, Sony should have one first party kart racing game as well as other titles. Instead of having multiple kart games with only characters from those respective franchises, Sony should have one 1st party kart game with all the PlayStation characters from all the PlayStation franchises. Also, instead of having Hot Shots Golf with only HSG characters excluding a few other PS characters, Sony should have all the PS characters in that game. Same goes for LBP and every other game like that. I hope the rumored PlayStation smash bros game is true.
I guess it’s official, we now have a Little Big Planet Cart Racing game.
I’m pretty excited! I love Kart racing titles, and I loved ModNation and Sonic and SEGA All-Stars Racing, so hopefully this does an even better job. It’ll be so much fun, I’m sure LBP will take it even further than ModNation ever did, or at least put a unique twist on creating everything
