Sony has released a list of full PSP games and PlayStation minis on the PS Blog that are currently compatible with PlayStation Vita.
275 total PSP and minis titles will be available for purchase or download. Players who already downloaded compatible PSP titles can download those titles onto their Vita for free, although Sony does note that players trying to download compatible PSP titles should be aware of their console activations, which may pose unspecified limitations.
Sony reminded players that PSP games can be downloaded to Vita directly via Wi-Fi or through PS3 and onto Vita via a USB cable and the Content Manager.

Sony recently said that there would be no North American version of the UMD Passport Program, while SCEE hasn’t yet confirmed or denied Europe’s status for the program.

Ah hell, I don’t see Metal Gearr Solid on that list.
surprising that they need a list, I’m pretty sure all the JP games work on the JP vita. also, MGS Peace Walker is 800yen, like $10 as a download on JP PSN.
no killzone lib., no resistance, no mod nation. no ps1 or ps2 classics. at least the 3rd birthday is compatible. two more weeks sony, better start padding that list more. with psp games, not minis.
That says that these are the first 275 that they are confirming, basically. If you read the comments, people are saying that they have played Valkyria Chronicles 2, etc and they work fine. So this is really just a “We guarantee these are fine” not a list of “everything other than this is broken.”
I won’t panic yet (MH:FU is on there anyways, but still).
They really should have gone ahead with a Passport program…
I’m pretty sure it would have resulted in the same bitching. You know, damned if you do, damned if you don’t.
But considering the current resale value of the psp and umd based games, i would have decided to keep my psp anyway. Will make a nice hand-me-down to my nephew when he’s a bit more cafeful with his toys. Nice starter portable.
they would have discounted them; they wouldn’t resell you at full price, this is what the program was about
you should also put , ” if you don’t see a game supported , that more psp games will be supported coming soon”.
Needs Portable Ops and Peace Walker…
I’m suprised Gran Turismo is not on there since it was one of the first titles that was digital or UMD when the Pspgo came out
What about PSN’s PS1 + PS2 games? That would be cool if you could play them to on the PSVita
(even tho the PS2 PSN games are sadly at 11 games only) :-/
I just bought the original Loco Roco/Patapon pack from the PSN. They better have that Vitable. I got it just so I could play on the Vita. Sony should flood the airwaves with all the things Vita can do and all the extra games it could play. Build some excitement, not more frustration.
I’m not paying a penny for the games I’ve already bought. The vita’s a great handheld but why would I pay for something I already own?!
Wow, I am bummed. I got all four PSP games from the welcome back program (and hot Shots Gold: Open Tee) and not even one of them are compatible. Hmmm – I wonder if that has anything to do with the fact that there is a PSV sequel for almost all the titles.. Little Big Planet, Modnation Racers, Hot Shot..and I imagine we will here about a Killzone soon enough. Oh well, only 5 days now till Amazon send to my door!!!
to say that i think the list sucks………………………..would be the understatement of the year
