Japanese Securities Firm Predicts Metal Gear Solid 5 In Konami’s 2014 Fiscal Year
A Japanese securities firm has predicted that the next installment of Kojima Productions’ best-selling Metal Gear Solid series will arrive in Konami’s 2014 Fiscal Year.
Andriasang, citing the Nihon Securities Journal, reports that Nomura Securities has predicted that Metal Gear Solid 5 will arrive in Konami’s 2014 fiscal year (April 2013 to May 2014).
The report says it’s unknown whether or not Nomura Securities has any information that led them to make that prediction or if they were making an educated guess.
The firm expects a 15% increase in Konami’s operating earnings, which would bring them up to 60 billion yen. Nomura’s expectations are based on Konami’s performance in social gaming, while the publisher’s traditional game sales are lower than expected.
Konami’s last new installment of the Metal Gear Solid franchise was Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker for PSP, which released in 2010.

Woo! Now here’s hoping for more gameplay than movies this time around! Yeah!
I’m not even going to guess how long it’ll be, it’s so hard to read Kojima and Konami a lot of the time. I’m betting if they haven’t started developing it yet though they’re a lot dumber than I thought.
I want MGS5 not MGS Rising
I hope not. 2014 could be when next gen consoles releases and it could hurt the game sales wise since there’s not going to be a hugh install base yet. It would be best if it releases for current gen consoles.
I hope this is true, and I hope it is a PS3 exclusive. I know a lot of people who would buy a PS3 just for this game.
2014 is way too much. MGS 4 came out in 08, we’re almost four years since it’s launch and MGS PW came out on 2010 so MGS5 should come out in 2012 with a trophy patch for MGA4 and/or MGS4 “Subsistance” coming out before it. Since MGS is one of my favorite franchises ever I would prefer for it to be a PS3 exclusive so it can take full advantage of the PS3′s power.
On a sidenote, MGS4 should defiently recieve a trophy patch, EVERYONE wants one and SO much people would rebuy MGS4 just for the trophies, like me.
