PlayStation Store Preview 2.0 – February 14, 2012: Vita Launch is Here

02/13/2012 Written by Anthony Severino

Welcome to PlayStation Store Preview 2.0. As you can see, things have changed… for the better. With the introduction of the PlayStation Vita and digital releases hitting the PlayStation Store the same day and date (for the most part) as retail counterparts, we decided that we needed to spruce the place up a bit. We hope you enjoy your stay and return to visit each week when we preview the PlayStation Store’s upcoming content.

Both the PlayStation Vita and PlayStation 3 have their own separate pages now, and there’s a page each for Coming Soon, and PlayStation Plus and Sales. Use the visual buttons below to easily navigate to each platform.

This week’s theme: PlayStation Vita games galore – welcome to the PlayStation Vita launch (at least for you First Edition early adopters… high five!).

Farcry 2 free for PS Plus members? If that’s true I’ll take that and Mass Effect 3 demo :-)

Also nice setup, I like it.

    • Yeah how about it? That’s a lot of free stuff! And with Reckoning on my plate, twisted metal out today, ssx coming soon, and ME3 on the horizon, it’ll probably be 2 months before I play any of the free games!

    Good Job Severino!
The buttons make for a very convenient layout so I can check what I want and that’s it.
Now all you gotta do is get rid of the creepy fortune teller guy.

Also, a great week for Plus.

    • We’re working on a new header idea as well. But, truth be told, we’re exploring options that keep the creepy dude, too.

      • Hey Sev, since I couldn’t find how to send a direct message I guess I’ll have to post here and hope you see this.

I have 2 ideas for a header you could make/use. One is that you can put like an audience at the bottom of the header, and at the middle/top of the screen you could have a stage with the PS3, PSP and PSV or replace the PSP with a pic of the PS Store. With 3 spot lights showing them off for the crowd.

The second idea is much simpler and I think gets the message across. Make it like a movie poster. Use blue and white as the main colors, and put like 3 bubbles (Like the PSV bubbles at the home screen) and have the PS3, PSV and the Store icon in them too and at the top/botom you could put “COMING SOON” in PlayStation Blue. And the only other places you would use the blue is for the borders and maybe the circles.

      • You could even put pics of the staff looking at the stage/at the poster! Oh and for the poster, you could use the PS Store bag as the background and just 2 bubbles showing the PS3 and PSV. That’s all I got for now =o

      • @ShadowStarr – The staff listing page will get ya what ya need: http://playstationlifestyle.net/staff/

Love the new interface section. Can’t wait for HOTD3 on PSN and the Mass Effect 3 demo.
