The next installment of Medal of Honor has been revealed.

Game Informer reports that in the latest issue of Official Xbox Magazine, the next Medal of Honor is being reported as being titled Medal of Honor: Warfighter. The game is being developed by the same team as the previous installment, Danger Close. Multiplayer for Warfighter is being worked on in-house, whereas the prior MOH‘s multiplayer was provided by DICE. The game’s engine is the visually stunning Frostbite 2.0, which had powered DICE FPS Battlefield 3.

The game once again follows the story of Tier 1 operators, but no further details are given.

OXM’s report also says that Medal of Honor: Warfighter will release this October.

EA is scheduled to give more details on the next Medal of Honor during a press event next month.

  1. The previous MOH was pretty good, so hopefully this one will be better.

I don’t understand why EA feels they always need to be in direct competition with Activision and the COD series. Obviously they are trying to reach the same audience with their shooting games but rather than pinning them against each other, and in many cases making people choose between the two because they can only afford one at a time, they should just release them at different times. I can almost guarantee both the MOH and BF series would see better sales if they released in Spring rather than in Fall alongside the years COD entry. A lot of FPS lovers may buy both, if that is the case you certainly won’t lose any of those customers, but you stand to gain all those who may only buy one at a time and will want a new experience 6 months down the road.

I don’t understand it either. It’s just as you said if EA released Battlefield and Medal Of Honor games during the summer they would definitely get more sales then releasing the games around the same time as Call Of Duty. Hopefully EA will eventually get smart and start releasing their shooters earlier in the year instead of later in the year.

I was really looking forward to it until I seen “Frostbite 2″ Guess I should prepare for loading screen hell and lag input….

  4. Holy crap. I can’t wait for it. Despite the average reviews for the last one and the sales that dwarf in comparison to CoD, I absolutely loved the last MoH. First FPS to get my praise since CoD4. I can’t stand it when people complain about the graphics on MoH. They were absolutely amazing. ESPECIALLY when compared to CoD. However, I didn’t like the difference in appearance and feel between single player and online. Danger Close should have handled it all. I don’t see DICE’s name on this image though . ….

EA has been releasing the Battlefield spin offs in March of the previous years (BC1, BC2). Coincidentally BF3 released in Oct and has been their fastest selling FPS title ever.
No FPS gamer in their right mind will bother with MOH2 after the joke that was the first….

I find it funny how people compare MoH to CoD. Have you lost your mind? MoH is based on real events. The missions in the first MoH was based on things on the early 2000′s. I automatically knew about the SEAL team in MoH and what the real life mission was about,.

The story mode was short, but was great. CoD is based all on fiction. MoH uses real life conflicts. Guarantee you, a Bin Laden like mission will be on MoH: Warfighter.

Definitely excited to learn more. MOH was a great game

  9. Greatest modern military shooter there is to play!
I hope that they keep the leaning mechanics, that’s what propelled the game into realistic gameplay!

I don’t get why people are talking about EA going toe to toe with Activision and saying they should release their game’s on another date away from the COD? EA is not some start up game company who formed last year. They’ve been in business for a while and quiet frankly they have some balls going head to head with Activision like this. I doubt another game company would attempt this due to Activision’s crazy sales numbers when it comes to COD. Competition is healthy in anything game industry, rap industry, even friendship, and so on. Keeps the blood pumping and hype going.

Anyways, you can’t be a king on the throne forever (Activision) someone’s bound to try and knock you off or even have a worthy successor take over from where Activision left off. So, EA show us what your bringing to the table!
