Uncharted 3 Co-Op Shade Survival Mode Coming Next Week, More DLC Coming After April

Uncharted 3 will be getting Co-Op Shade Survival Mode DLC next week. Naughty Dog has released a trailer for the DLC, in addition to revealing that additional DLC support is coming to the game after April, when the Fortune Hunter’s Club support ends.

On the PS Blog, Naughty Dog Community Strategist Eric Monacelli unveiled the Co-Op Shade Survival Mode. The mode pits a group of friends against wave after wave of progressively tougher Djinn enemies for eight rounds, with the later rounds having Djinn with extra armor and firepower. A “very sizeable” amount of in-game cash can be earned by successfully completing the mode and players can level up more quickly when surviving the mode. New medals can be earned and different objectives come into play for the match. For instance, the Marked Man objective appears in an Arena setting, which sees a Djinn enemy being marked to be taken out while being protected by other Djinn.

The DLC is free for Fortune Hunters’ Club Members and will cost $5.99 standalone.

As for Naughty Dog supporting Uncharted 3 DLC beyond the end of the Fortune Hunter’s Club in April, Monacelli said:

We aren’t done with support of Uncharted 3 after April. The final Fortune Hunters’ Club DLC hits in April. We’ll have information on what’s next for Uncharted 3 beyond the FHC after it hits.

When asked if Fortune Hunters’ Club members will continue to get DLC discounts, as well as if Uncharted 2‘s servers were still up, Monacelli said:

No the Uncharted 2 servers should still be up but let us know if there are issues. The Fortune Hunters’ Club details will be forthcoming.
