Winner: Gran Turismo 6
Right when Gran Turismo 6 launched, there was a lot of talk about it being “just like GT5, but with more cars and tracks”. And they said that like it was a bad thing! Part of Gran Turismo‘s appeal is that it’s about as close to perfection and real-life racing that you can get, without actually paying over $100,000 (or more) for a Supercar and putting the pedal to the metal yourself. That leaves very little room for error, but also very little room to continue to excel and improve a formula that’s nearly flawless.
Yet somehow, Polyphony Digital has done just that, and has further refined and polished the undisputed champion of simulation racing, making for the best Gran Turismo in the franchise.
