PlayStation Music Saw Nearly 11 Million Downloads in 2015, Destiny & FIFA 15 Tops for Background Music

Made available on PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 3 at the end of March 2015, the PlayStation Music app featuring Spotify quickly became one of the most downloaded apps in PlayStation history. As PlayStation Network Senior VP Eric Lempel announced today, the app was downloaded nearly 11 million times as of January 1, 2016, with users listening to over 190 million hours of music through Spotify.

“We’re thrilled to see this level of engagement from the PlayStation community for a music experience all of us here are passionate about,” he said.

With the PS4 allowing you to listen to background music through Spotify, Lempel notes that Destiny, FIFA 15, and NBA 2K15 were some of the top games for this feature.

Lempel also revealed the top 10 tracks of 2015 on PlayStation Music:

  2. Know Yourself — Drake
  3. Nasty Freestyle — T-Wayne
  4. See You Again (feat. Charlie Puth) — Wiz Khalifa
