In their digital sales report for May 2016, SuperData has revealed that Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End grossed over $56 million, making it the #1 console game for the month. Comparing it to the digital launch of Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection, Uncharted 4 sold nearly six times more copies.
While we don’t know how much Overwatch made specifically on consoles, its combined total on PC and consoles was $269 million, making it the big overall winner for the month. Battleborn, meanwhile, earned an estimated $18 million.
Here’s the top five grossing digital console games by revenue for May 2016 (May 1 – 31):
- Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End ($56 million)
- Call of Duty: Black Ops 3
- FIFA 16
- The Division
- Overwatch
Uncharted 4’s victory shouldn’t come as much of a surprise, as it was the #1 digital game of May 2016 through the PlayStation Store, as well as the #1 game at US retail.
As for the overall worldwide digital games market, it was up 11% year-over-year to $6 billion in May 2016.
