I like change

I like change

This type of thing was announced at E3. Jack Tretton said that you would be able to access your PSN account from a variety of platforms. The PSP has seen the arrival of PSN and now PlayStation.com is making a complete transfer over to the PSN side of the force. No longer will you log in with the old PSU log in, you have to use your PSN ID. I guess that means you all will be seeing a great deal more of GODSFAVORITE and less of Chris Rah Osiris on the PlayStation sites. Read more »

White Knight Story Boxart…For Japan

Official Japanese Boxart

Official Japanese Boxart

The game that Sony made just for me is going to be released on Christmas as a present. Though I do not live in Japan and will have to import this game, we are fortunate enough to have a gander at the official boxart. I can only look at it for so long before my jealousy overflows. I’ll have to be patient. Sony will have to announce a release date for other territories one day. Until then, I will settle for my imported copy.

PS3 and PSP: A Match Made by Sony

We belong together

We belong together

I have a PSP. I also have a PS3. I am not shocked to hear that I am not the only one with these two possessions. Christian Svensson has a better idea of how common this is. Apparently, 50% of PS3 owners, also own a PSP. How does he know? You likely guessed it, Sony told him. Sounds like a pretty good number. Hopefully this will help to motivate developers to make games adhocparty compatible.

Do you own both? You should. (Only kidding, but it is a good idea. They are peanut butter and jelly).

Guess Who’s Back?

It looks something like this

It looks something like this

No, it is not the Governator. It is the Official Blog. The blog is back and to be perfectly honest, the changes do not affect the look of the page terribly too much. You are free to like that or not. I like the look. Be sure to keep track of the recent posts, twitter feed, and the Playstation Converstation. This change is new and all, but it really only makes me more excited about the changes that will be coming in the future.

Are you impressed?

This Week’s Blu-Cast

Pixar did it again

Pixar did it again

This week’s Blu-Cast is looking a lot like this weekend’s weather. There is no sunshine and there are intermittent showers. There is a big name title for everyone to rally around, but I’m sure some of you will pass it over because it is a “children’s” movie. I heard Wall-E was rather good. This is coming from my cousin. He is required to go to these things, he has a daughters.

Individuals that are interested in buying bulk can choose from an assortment of packs for purchase. There is a Marvel 3-pack, but sadly it only includes the 2 Fantastic 4 movies and the Daredevil. (At least Elektra was not included). There is also a Blu-Ray 20 pack you can purchase. I don’t know if I should list all twenty. There are some catalog titles that will be released this week as well, 8 Mile and National Security.

Anyone excited about this week’s Blu-Offering? I think I just may get the Beyonce release. For review purposes only. ;) Read more »

Official PS Blog is Getting an Official Update

PS Blog 1.5

PS Blog 1.5

Monday morning the official PS Blog will be undergoing a makeover. Jeff says that your critiques of the blog have been taken into consideration and some of them will make an appearance this Monday. At approximately 9am PST, yes, it is always PST, you will find a few new things. My personal favorite will be the latest posts and most active post features. That is not to say that we are not all fans of the ability to see older posts as well. We are really looking forward to seeing this on Monday. Luckily I’ll be able to see it when it goes live. I will be off of work. YAY.

P.S. More features will be coming in the near future.

PS3 Keypad Coming in December

I'll need this for Home

This will be a welcome accessory for Home

The chatpad/keypad was announced with some mixed reviews. The major issue with the keypad was the price. I won’t lie and say that I love dishing out $50, but I actually am not. So…I can’t gripe about that. I was able to sneak in and get it for $40 during one of Amazon’s sales. (I love you Amazon). Just in case you were wondering when this fine accessory will be available at your fine, local retailer, it will be in the first week of December. That means I get my baby when I get back from Thanksgiving break. I love the holidays. ;) Read more »

This game is coming very soon. Hard to believe that Christmas is only 44 days away. My Christmas list is actually rather slim this year. I already bought the majority of the things I would have wanted anyway. However, if anyone out there is kind enough to do this, won’t you please import White Knight Chronicles for me? It is coming out on Christmas afterall.

Enjoy the advertisement.

Capcom Store Goes Live This Thursday

The PS Store Capcom Department

The PS Store Capcom Department

The Capcom section of the PSN Store will go live this Thursday. The store will be totally dedicated to everything Capcom. You will find the games, add-on content, and themes that are available for games. The set-up divides everything by game, which only makes perfect sense. You wouldn’t expect to find Mega Man 9 stuff in a section other than Mega Man.  This will be the first publisher specific section and with the continued support of Capcom, it is sure to be one of the greatest sections the PS Store has to offer.

This Week’s Blu-Cast

Coming your way on Veteran's Day

Coming your way on Veteran's Day

Another week and this is another nice one. Hellboy 2 makes it Blu-Ray debut and it is accompanied by Star Wars’ debut as well. Sadly, this is not the original trilogy, it is only the CGI movie. This is no knock on the movie, I didn’t see it, but I love the Cartoon Network series. So if one is an accurate depiction of the other, I’ll pick this movie up eventually. OK, back to Hellboy. Hellboy’s first film had mixed reviews and several disappointed fans. This movie seemed to do a much better job of putting Hellboy on the screen. I want to see this in 1080p.

Other releases for the week include the release of the Harry Potter Giftset. Yes, WB is releasing it again. I have not heard if there have been any improvements. Yea, I just checked, still no HD audio, which should be a crime. Band of Brothers will get the blu treatment and Canada is going to get some DBZ goodness.

Anything coming out this week that piques your interest?

This game is out of this world

LittleBigPlanet Review

I wrote a little blurb when this game was released that I wanted to go home and play it instead of going to class. That was followed up by a story about my friend that thought the game was over-hyped. He is currently in the process of picking up a side job so he can afford the game. (It is hard to be a gamer and a student). That should be considered the preview to this review. LittleBigPlanet is a game unlike any other. Let me tell you why.

He brings news

He brings news

A new PS3 firmware is on the way. It is a minor update, hence the change to the hundredth decimal instead of the tenth. This update will bring improved sound playback and correct some keyboard issues. I’m glad they are fixing this before I get my official keypad. I want that to work flawlessly.

[Update] Firmware 2.52 is now available for download.

Ryu FTW!!!!

Ryu FTW!!!!

Capcom said that this title would be coming soon and now we have received word that this has been submitted to Sony. Not only that, the target release date for the title is November. Is anyone still excited about this game? I’m sure some are. I am personally more excited about the prospect of Marvel vs. Capcom 2.

This Week’s Blu-Cast

Election week is being accompanied by an onslaught of movies. For the most part, you’ll have Planet of the Apes movies to watch. This should bring some cheers, tears, or jeers, depending on how you feel about the series.  Kung Fu Panda is being released on the following Sunday. Was this movie worth all of the hype? Action fans will love Universal Soldier. Jean-Claude Van Damme (JCVD) had several mindless action flicks that were and still are great.

I won’t be watching movies this week. R2 is going to get my free time.

Burnout Party

Its Party Time!

It's Party Time!

Burnout Paradise is the game that keeps on giving. The number of updates this title has seen makes it appear as if it has just been released over and over again. I am not even taking the game’s availability on the PS Store into account. If you wanted to know how successful the game has been on the PS Store, what do you think about 20,000 downloads?
