At this year’s Consumer Electronic Show in Las Vegas, Sony stole the show with their staunch support of 3D. Not only will an update to play 3D games be hitting the PlayStation 3 shortly, they also plan on releasing a full line of 3D capable products including TVs. The company will be releasing their highly anticipated 3D TVs later this year, and despite a dwindling global economy, they are setting their sales expectations extremely high.
GameStop has uploaded the back cover for God of War III and it reveals information which will surely satisfy any PS3 owner.
Rapidly approaching its release date, God Of War III has recently gone gold. Since the PlayStation 2 series, the hack-and-slash series has pushed the console hardware to the max. The folks at Sony Santa Monica have shared a bit of info on how massive Kratos’ epic quest on the PlayStation 3’s Blu-Ray disc.

In a recent interview with Play3, Sony’s Senior VP of Product Development, Shuhei Yoshida said that the PlayStation 4 will use optical storage discs like Blu-Ray for blockbuster games. This was surprising considering Sony’s digital push with UMD-less PSPgo, and the trend the gaming industry has shown toward digital distribution.

Despite being easily dwarfed by E3 in the video game news arena, The Consumer Electronics Show is often the place where industry giants let loose some exciting details on upcoming products and services. This year is no exception.

Apparently Square Enix have revealed that the PS3 version of the RPG will still be untouched with an uncompressed FFXIII. The 360 version of FFXIII, will feature compressed audio and video, presumptively to help fit its hefty capacity onto the DVD format.
