
Due to its unique ability to interface with the hugely popular PC MMO EVE Online, Dust 514 has become one the biggest games to watch for in 2012. With the ability to evolve your experience between the PS3, PC and possibly even the PS Vita later on, gamers have been questioning just what this free-to-play experience has in-store for everyone. Luckily, Sony has just announced a way that everyone will have a chance to find out just what CCP Games has been cooking up since it was first unveiled in 2008.

LEGOs have a tendency to attract younger crowds, and the video game series follows that same path. With no dialogue and simple assembly tasks, coupled with stories straight from whatever movie it happens to tie into, the LEGO video games have remained overly basic. Not that it has ever been a bad franchise, but it has remained simplistic in an effort to cater to this demographic. But because the original LEGO Batman sold over 11 million units worldwide, LEGO Batman 2: DC Super Heroes hopes to build on that by also attracting an older audience.

According to industry figure Kevin Dent, all is not well at THQ, as the company’s situation continues to worsen. According to a new rumor, the publisher will be facing 170 staff layoffs, including its vice president of tech Mark DeLoura.

Zachary Levi, the star of NBC’s Chuck, is set to host the Spike Video Game awards next month the Hollywood Reporter reports. Levi is no stranger to videogames – he is both an avid player and voice actor, having last appeared in Bethesda’s Fallout: New Vegas and Microsoft’s Halo: Reach.

Each year at the annual Spike TV Video Game Awards, the show acts as a grand stage for a number of high-profile video game reveals. Just last year alone saw the announcement of some heavy hitters like The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, Mass Effect 3 and Uncharted 3: Drake’s Deception. This year, Spike TV is teasing a “PS3 exclusive you won’t believe”.

It seems a little early to be handing out Game of the Year awards, but that’s how the GamesMaster Golden Joystick Awards roll. And who I am to tell them otherwise? They’ve picked their big winner, and it’s Valve’s Portal 2. But who else took home awards?
