“Leipziger Messe has issued a press release confirming that its 2009 Games Convention has been cancelled.”
EdgeOnline is reporting that the Leipzig Game Convention has been canceled. Originally scheduled August 20th-23rd, Leipzig was in direct competition with Gamescon Convention in Cologne. There was much debate about the Leipzig location. Evidently many major players in the convention had been scaling back their booths when the Gamescon convention was announced in Cologne.
Leipziger Messe will be hosting an event based on browser and mobile gaming from July 31st to August 2nd.
Have you ever seen this before? I haven’t either. It does look intriguing though. This is courtesy of PSOnly.
Accessory giant Nitho will release a controller, remote AND keyboard all in one for the PlayStation 3. The device came up while at the Leipzig Games Convention. See a picture of this multifunctional remote control beneath this.
As you can see the remote control has the standard buttons such as Play, Pause etc, and also the PlayStation 3 buttons. If you however, open the bottom, you will see a keyboard with two mini analogue sticks and all the buttons of a normal controller.
Unfortunately it is not known yet when this remote control will be in stores and how much it will cost.
As you can see the translation isn’t perfect. The new translation is thanks to superaktieboy. More details as they arrive.

The title is worded as such because the title will not ship with a co-op story mode. GG has reportedly stated that a co-op version of the story mode will be available for download sometime after Killzone 2 is released. GG has also informed PS3fanboy that vehicles will be available in multiplayer mode at a later time as well.
I know I am not the only one that thinks Guerilla Games is doing just about everything in the developer’s power to make Killzone 2 a must have title. Hopefully the co-op story mode will be online. That would make for plenty of fun.

GG announced that Killzone 2 will have bots in multiplayer. This is very exciting information. If you frequent the Killzone Forums, you would know that there was even a petition started, prior to the announcement, requesting bots. Bots will be in both offline and online multiplayer.

Tons of trophy support is coming our way.
PS3Trophies.org is over at Leipzig gathing intel on which upcoming titles will be supporting trophies. I’m sure no one wants to read an essay about the subject. I wouldn’t want ot either. Here are the titles that will be supporting trophies:

Our pals in PAL territories are getting another nice service. They already have PlayTV to hang their hats on, but now they have VidZones as well. VidZones will allow PAL PS3 owners to stream music videos. Remote-Play will enable you to view these music videos on your PSP as well. (Amazing, I know). This service will be available Early 09. So sexy
The PSP-3000 has been announced. It was the first announcement made. The PSP-3000, also known as the Slim and Lite. It will have a built-in mic and a new LCD screen. The new screen will improve the color display and reduce glare. (I’m sold). This will be released first in Europe on October 15th.
David Reeves has also announced a 160GB PS3. It will be released on Halloween. No word on a release in other territories at this time. PS3fanboy is reporting that the 160GB PS3 will not have PS2 BC.
UPDATE
The 160GB PS3 will come with Uncharted: Drake’s Fortune, a voucher for Pain, and a DualShock 3. It will function exactly like the newly announced/released 80GB PS3. That means no PS2 BC. You do get twice the HDD space. It will retail for $499.99
The PSP-3000 will come with a 4GB memory stick pro duo or the Ratchet and Clank: Size Matters entertainment pack. 4GB is a lot of space. (I’m buying this model even though I recently purchased a PSP-2000. I’m giving it to…you guessed it, my brother). These packs will still cost $199.99 and eventually you will be able to purchase the PSP-3000 hardware alone for $169.99.

Konami will be releasing an HD racing game on PSN this November. The title will be in 720p, 60fps, and 5.1 surround sound. The title will also support the PS Eye. So you can see the people that you are racing against if you choose to. There will be a variety of game modes including Arcade and Free Run. The title has only been confirmed for Europe as of the moment.
{Via Press Release}
Videogaming247 is reporting that a “next-gen” PSEye title will be revealed during the Sony Press Conference today. Additional PS Eye gaming content was on our Leipzig announcement wish list. No one has let what the exact details of the game are slip. In truth, the genre of the game has not been leaked either. So it could be anything. I would not be surprised by a FPS. You do remember seeing the ability to use the EyeToy to look around corners. (I personally wanted to see this in Resistance 2 and Killzone 2). Anything is possible. It could even be another card game. (EOJ is fun. You know it is).
Thank you to Jamie S. of ThatGamingSite for pointing this story out for us.
UPDATE
Do you want a pet that you don’t have to buy food for and clean up after? How about a pet that can do things such as color? I want one. In fact, it is the only type of pet that I want. This and more is what you can expect from the upcoming title, EyePet.
We here at PSLS are extremely excited for the upcoming Leipzig Games Convention. The guarantee of 12 announcements at Leipzig has only added fuel to the fire. We already know that Heavy Rain will be at the show. We also know that Killzone 2’s multiplayer will be playable for the first time. So the authors at PSLS came together and created a list of things that we hope are a part of the 12 announcements.
