A lot of announcements that came out of the Sony Press Conference were unexpected. A lot of interesting news came out about games that feature connectivity between the PlayStation Vita and PS3.

Ever since the NGP’s announcement the PlayStation Portable successors’ price has always been discussed. Will it be expensive as many predict or will Sony surprise the masses by sticking an affordable price tag on the powerful handheld device? The company has announced PS Vita’s official price.

Sony made sure to put on a good press conference this year. They made a lot of big announcements. First, the NGP was officially named as PlayStation Vita, and secondly, the 3G carrier was announced.

Despite E3 being only a few days away, Sony have decided to make today a NGP information blow-out day with new info on Uncharted, Sound Shapes and more revealed. After images leaked, Sony have announced a new Super Stardust title at a press event.

Arguably the best new franchise of this generation, Uncharted blew people away with Drake’s Fortune, amazed them with Among Thieves and is sure to push the bar even higher this November with Drake’s Deception. The series will also be debuting on a handheld platform for the first time, coming the the NGP under the development of Sony Bend rather than Naughty Dog. At a Pre-E3 press event, Sony officially titled the game: Uncharted: Golden Abyss.

With the NGP/Vita boasting near-PS3 graphics and an unprecedented processing power for a mobile platform, gamers will finally be able to have true cross platform gameplay.

One of the first truly indie games on the PlayStation Network, Everyday Shooter was created and developed by one man: Jonathan Mak. Mak has been hard at work on his next game for the PlayStation – Sound Shapes, exclusively for the NGP.

When the NGP was first announced, it was revealed that the handheld would be able to play downloadable PSP games. At a press event today, Sony has detailed the NGP’s backwards compatibility – including the fact that the titles will be upscaled and optimised.

PlayStation’s VP of practically everything, Kevin Butler, was last seen tweeting early on during the PlayStation Network outage. But it’s been an entire month since the Sony mascot has made a peep… er… tweet. But now Butler is back!
