Amazon Pulls Kill Switch on PSN Cards and Digital Downloads

In an extremely surprising move, Amazon has gone and removed every single piece of PlayStation Network content from their website, including prepaid cards, without any explanation.

Here’s the official word straight from Amazon, courtesy of PSN Stores:

We have no announcements regarding this change in selection, however we can confirm that Amazon Digital Video Game Downloads is not currently offering Playstation Network Online Game Codes and Points Cards.

Right now links to anything PSN related have been removed, and the PlayStation Network “hub” on Amazon is completely gone, and URLs to any of the content coming up blank. Even PlayStation Network value cards aren’t available from Amazon.com anymore. Third-party sellers still offer them through the website, but at a much higher cost.

Don’t worry if you previously purchased anything though, as that content can still be accessed. No word yet from Sony on just what is going on, but we will keep you posted once we hear anything.

Final Fantasy XIII-2 Pre-Order Incentives Revealed

Final Fantasy XIII-2 is set to release this coming January. Following the multimillion-selling Final Fantasy XIII, Square Enix is looking to get you to pre-order the game sooner rather than later. Some pre-order incentives have been announced, and can be read about below.

In a recent presser, Square Enix announced the goodies you will receive if you pre-order the game at participating retailers:

Amazon: Pre-order from this online retailer to receive the Omega Boss Battle, a “Unique coliseum battle against boss enemy “Omega,” who joins the player’s party afterward.”
Best Buy: This retailer has the only physical incentive announced so far: a collectible hardcover book, titled Final Fantasxy XIII Episode i. Square Enix has labeled this as a novella, which bridges the storylines between Final Fantasy XIII and XIII-2.
GameStop: Pre-orders from here will come with an alternate costume for Serah.

Deus Ex: Human Revolution Hacks Online Price, Get it for Only $34.99

Amazon Offers Games for a Steal to Celebrate PS3 Price Drop

The PlayStation 3 is now more affordable than we ever imagined possible with a price point of $249.99. As a result, sales have shot through the roof, and thousands of consumers are on the market for games. Amazon is here, as usual, to offer great deals for everyone.

Amazon is currently holding a PS3 Price Drop Celebration which includes a variety of games for ridiculously low prices. Tomb Raider Trilogy has been knocked down to $19.99 only months following release, and the same applies to Dragon Age 2, Dungeon Siege III, and Bulletstorm who have all dropped to $29.99, $32.99, and $29.99 respectively. There are plenty of games listed, so now is a great time to stock up on games that you’ve missed before the blockbusters hit store shelves later this year.

May the sales never end! We posted about a sale earlier today, but in case you missed the small window to take advantage of it, we’ve found yet another to keep you playing for less money.

Video game sales have been quite plentiful lately, and Amazon in particular seems to be leading the retailers with their slew of sales and deals steadily rolling out this summer. Hot off an all day Gold Box Event which included numerous deals on PS3 games, Amazon is already offering us 40% off of select games with the purchase of a full priced one. Over 60 games are eligible for the offer on the PS3 side of the deal alone, including many great games like Metal Gear Solid 4, Demon’s Souls, Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2, Fallout: New Vegas, and Battlefield: Bad Company 2. The sale also includes a variety of Xbox 360 games and is sporting a vastly different list, despite many of the titles being multiplatform, so if you own both consoles it may be worthwhile to check out both lists.

While Amazon’s Gold Box Events are on a very specific time limit, this sale appears to have no specified end date, leaving us to only speculate about how long it will last. The horizon of good game releases is virtually barren at the moment, so it’s a great time to grab some of the ones you may have missed in the past while we wait for the onslaught of hits to roll in this holiday season. Splinter Cell HD Collection Appears to be Sneaking to A Fall Release

One thing that is a hot-ticket item this generation of consoles is HD remastering. Whether for God of War, Sly Cooper, Tomb Raider or other famous games of the last generation, HD collections are always value-packed at a budget price. The Splinter Cell Trilogy was originally slated for a March release, but if the latest retail listings are anything to go on, fans will have a bit more to wait before they can revisit the popular stealth series.

As spotted on Amazon, GameFly and GameStop‘s respective websites, the Splinter Cell Trilogy is now expected to arrive in your hands on September 27th. While we are awaiting official confirmation from publisher Ubisoft if this is indeed the final ship date, when three separate large retailers post the same information it lends credence to that date being official. Tom Clancy’s Splinter Cell Trilogy includes the original Splinter Cell, Splinter Cell: Pandora Tomorrow, and Splinter Cell: Chaos Theory remastered in high definition and given trophies, with perhaps some other functionality not yet revealed, for $39.99 USD. PlayStation LifeStyle remains committed to informing our readers about all the best deals we can find on PlayStation products and, as usual, it seems Amazon is just as committed to providing them. They’ve posted yet another great deal on games, this time with an enormous list of games qualifying for a “Buy Two, Get One Free” deal. The sale is chock full of fantastically fun games, such as Dead Space 2 Collector’s Edition, Batman Arkham Asylum: GOTY, Need For Speed: Hot Pursuit, Borderlands GOTY Edition, and of course the ever popular Naughty Bear Gold Edition. I kid, Naughty Bear isn’t popular at all, but you can’t blame them for trying to unload it, right?

There’s plenty more to be had, with almost 100 PS3 games to choose from on the list, so it’s likely there’s something for everyone. There’s also plenty more to choose from for other platforms like Xbox 360 and PC, if you’re into that sort of thing. Of course, the cheapest game chosen will be the one you get for free, so try to choose items that are priced relatively close to each other to get the most bang for your bucks. Unfortunately, Amazon hasn’t said how long the deal will be available, only listing it as “For a limited time.” So, if you’re interested it’s better to head over there now and grab your games while they’re still on this fresh sale.

Major PS3 Titles, PlayStation Move On Sale for $40

Who doesn’t love a good deal? Especially when the deal is on some of the best PlayStation 3 titles released this year. Even better, the PlayStation Move is also on sale for under $40, and the PlayStation Move Navigation Controller is being discounted.

[Update] Each deal has been extended yet another day. This is very unusual for deals this good, so take full advantage of it.

Mortal Kombat and Portal 2 both launched to high praise from critics and plenty of excitement for fans of each respective series. Each game was consider by most, to be a day one buy. However, if for some reason you weren’t able to afford one, or the other, or both, then one retailer has an offer you just cannot refuse.

It’s a rare occurence to see Amazon.com offer the same Deal of the Day two days in a row. Yesterday’s stunning deal on Portal 2, bringing the price to $34.99, has been extended to today as well.

PS3 Rockets Up Bestseller List Due to $50 Promo

Just a little over a year ago, Kratos smashed onto the PlayStation 3 for his first time, and he wasn’t kidding around. Not only was the game a visual masterpiece, but it was one of the most epic and satisfying action experiences of the generation. It didn’t take long for the title to join the proud collection of Greatest Hits, and as a result became more affordable for the everyday man. If you have heard of God of War III but have no idea just how bloody good it is, then boy do we have the deal for you.

Amazon, in typical recession-friendly fashion, has marked down the price of God of War III to a gloriful $19.99. As usual, if you are able to achieve a purchase total of $25 or more, you’ll be eligible for free shipping. Otherwise, it’s just a few bucks.

Although Madden is the king of football already, and voting for the current cover athlete is already underway, there is no reason that we can’t receive a great pre-order incentive right? Well, it seems as if Amazon has stepped up and offered a fantastic deal to an already fantastic gaming series.

Amazon is already pretty well known to gamers given the fact that they give a lot of pre-order “credits” to a lot of big name AAA titles.
