If you can look post the fact that the original Dead Rising never hit the PS3 and that we’re going to miss out on the ‘Case Zero’ DLC which is a 360-exclusive prologue that takes place between the first and second title, there’s plenty of reasons to be excited about Capcom’s Dead Rising 2. First off, the game allows you to combine weapons to make some pretty wild inventions. For example: Take a boat paddle, add duct tape, throw in (2) chainsaws and shazam, Paddlesaws! All the rage currently in Japan has to do with crossovers– don’t believe me? We reported early last week that Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker will feature a ‘Monster Hunter’ mode where Snake will enter the world of MH to hunt monsters, Metal Gear Style. Considering how popular Monster Hunter is in Japan, this is likely going to help sell hundreds of thousands of extra copies than it was originally going to. Even though the first Dead Rising game has yet to grace the PlayStation 3, Capcom plans to bring Dead Rising 2 and it’s gorey glory to the PS3 sometime this year. The best part? Capcom revealed that the game is going to have it’s own Customizable Weapon System and the possibilities are endless.
Capcom have confirmed that zombie slaying Dead Rising 2 will release for Japan this year. There’s no word yet on the when the sequel will be available worldwide, but many retailers are pegging it with a worldwide release during 2010.
A lot of PlayStation 3 owners were upset when it was revealed that Capcom would be brining Monster Hunter 3 exclusively for Wii. This was because Monster Hunter was formally known as an exclusive franchise for Sony. But it seems some form of Monster Hunter could still be making its way to the PlayStation 3.
Even though [shal]Dead Rising 2[/shal] will be absent from [shal]E3[/shal] this year, [shal]Capcom[/shal] was nice enough to release a new trailer. It depicts a much darker looking game than the first one. It actually reminds us a lot of [shal]Resident Evil 2[/shal].
Capcom R&D Keiji Inafune has confirmed that Dead Rising 2 will feature multiplayer. Inafune told journalists this: “We’re at a point in game history that you need to have some form of multiplayer component in a game.” He continued with: “Single-player alone is not going to cut it. So rest assured we are going to [...]

Written by Azariah Everyone was happy to hear that Dead Rising 2 is coming to the PS3 as well as the Xbox 360. In one of Capcom’s latest podcasts, Keiji Inafune the series producer revealed some tid bits that seem to go against Capcom’s commitment to being multiplatform. “Please expect new Dead Rising and Lost [...]
