Fans have seized the moment of opportunity by recommending some of their favorite game icons to the list of desirables. Actually, fans aren’t the only people making suggestions, and another special game director has added his say to what could make quite a handful of people happy.

<span

Her ability to kick butt, and look good while doing it makes her an awesome possible addition, and one that fans of both series could enjoy.

Do you like the idea of Bayonetta appearing in the next Soulcalibur game? The games which were a part of the deal included Bayonetta, Infinite Space, MadWorld, and, the more recent, Vanquish. Atsushi Inaba, who worked on Ōkami, previously announced that the developer was in talks with SEGA to potentially extend their partnership. Well, it appears those talks have been successful as SEGA has announced that they will be announcing a new title from Platinum.

SEGA West’s Executive Vice President of Sales and Marketing Alan Pritchard told magazine Game Informer that “We have a further title to announce from Platinum Games as well.” With all the hints pointing towards a possible Bayonetta 2 prior to Pritchard’s statement it certainly wouldn’t be wrong to suspect that a Bayonetta sequel is the game Platinum are working on with SEGA. Firstly, Bayonetta creator Hideki Kamiya said “I believe so” when asked if there will be a Bayonetta 2. And the Japanese developer further went on to say: ““She’ll [Bayonetta] be back if you believe so.” Shortly after the game’s launch Kamiya also stated: “I don’t see anything wrong with Bayonetta 2.”

Atsushi Inaba all but confirmed a sequel for Bayonetta was imminent with the following declaration:

There is no concrete plan or schedule that we can talk about. It’s not like [creator Hideki] Kamiya said, ‘OK, we’re going to make this. But Bayonetta is definitely a special IP for us. We loved creating that game. We think it was a really good game. We would love to make a sequel to it when the time is right. That’s all we can say.

While the PlayStation 3 version of Bayonetta had its fair share of problems due to it being a poor port there’s still no denying the game itself was a breath of fresh air; Bayonetta was released to a great critical response and a warm reception from gamers as well as boasting reputable sales.

What game would you like Platinum Games to work on? Let us know in the comments below.
<div

His latest creation, Bayonetta, might not be for everyone, but it just might be Kamiya’s greatest effort to date.

First off, I’d like to say something about Bayonetta–for better or worse, this game is 100% Japanese and 100% crazy. How so? There are cutscenes featuring the heroine, Bayonetta, diving to save the last lick of her lollipop, having a dance off with a clone angel, and many, many camera shots of Bayonetta’s southern regions.Still interested? If so…then good. Because Capcom better take note. Even with all that nonsense, Bayonetta just made Devil May Cry look stupid.

As with most action games, Bayonetta’s storyline isn’t the star here. There are two warring factions, the Umbra Witches and the Lumen Sages. All you need to know is that the Angels above are trying to resurrect ‘The Creator’ Jubilieus and that you have to stop them from doing so. However, with all the action going on, you really aren’t going to give a damn about the game’s storyline. It’s really just there to help move the game along.

I hate to see you leave, but I LOVE to see you go, darling

Before I get to the gameplay and the graphics, I have to mention Bayonetta’s sexiness. Bayonetta’s ass is definitely one of the best digital asses yet. Even Chloe from Uncharted 2 would blush as Bayonetta walked by. And why not? Hideki admitted that he wanted the game to be sexy…and it shows. Bayonetta’s hair is her clothing, so when she uses her special moves, her birthday suit is on display (with strategically placed hair blocking certain parts). Everything about Bayonetta’s looks screams sexiness from the top of her lungs and your eyes will appreciate it. Bayonetta is pure sexiness.

The hype for Bayonetta’s gameplay reached an all-time high when the legendary Japanese gaming magazine Famitsu gave the game a pefect review score of 40 out of 40 and escalated when Edge Magazine said that Kratos, Dante, and every other action/adventure star needed to go back to the drawing board. I’m here to say that the gameplay is fantastic and will keep you entertained throughout the whole game. Bayonetta comes equipped with two guns in hand..and two guns on her shoes. You read that right. Not only can she blow angels’ brains out with hands, but she can quickly do the splits and kill two more angels coming up behind her with her feet.

In addition to her trusty guns, Bayonetta’s hair is also her weapon, transforming into a gigantic heel, a monstrous spider, or a dragon that chomps her enemies to death. You will also come across some wicked cool weapons, from gauntlets that can change between fire and electricity, to a badass katana (my favorite weapon in the game), to a whip that’s part snake. The game has a nice range of weapons, but I never used anything other than the katana during my play through. Also, unlike some other action/adventure games, you won’t be able to upgrade any of your weapons. And while the gameplay has some depth to it, you could very easily just button mash your way to victory, but there is a catch.
<hr

Kamiya has come full circle with the adrenaline fueled gameplay. Recently he spoke with Game Informer about some of his more family friendly previous works with Capcom.

Okami and Viewtiful Joe were both very popular on the PlayStation 2. Many fans of those titles have been scratching their head wondering how longer they would go without a true next gen makeover on these series. Hideki Kamiya tries to clear the air in regards to what we should expect in the future.

“Up until very recently I really felt someday I wanted to make a sequel to Okami, and there were others who wanted me to as well. But then the other day I heard the announcement that someone else would be making a sequel and now I’m just not interested in it anymore. Once someone else touches a world that you yourself created it stops being yours. There is no point in making a sequel when the world doesn’t belong to you. Viewtiful Joe is probably all I’ve got left. That story is incomplete so I’d like to finish it someday. But that would probably be the most difficult one to do [laughs].”

[Devil May Cry and Viewtiful Joe series creator, as well as Okami mastermind,

PlayStation LifeStyle: Who are you, and what is your position at Platinum Games?
My name is Hideki Kamiya and I am the Game Director on Bayonetta.

PSLS: How did the idea of her hair being her clothes and a weapon come about?
It’s an idea I’ve had for quite a while so I’m very happy to have it included in the game. In the game Bayonetta’s hair is actually her clothing too, so you’ll see when she does a hair attack, she loses some of her clothing.

PSLS: How would you respond to claims of similarities between Bayonetta and Devil May Cry?
There are always going to be comparisons because of my work on DMC. For me, Bayonetta is very much a progression of all the games I’ve made so far, not just Devil May Cry, but also titles like Okami and Viewtiful Joe. All my experience has been used to make Bayonetta, and our aim is to create something completely new and redefine the 3D action genre. I don’t mind Bayonetta being compared to DMC as I’m very proud of what we achieved on DMC.

PSLS: How does Bayonetta’s sexuality play a part in the game?
In lots of different ways really, Bayonetta does carry herself and communicates like a strong, attractive and independent woman. So everything from the character animation to the script enforces this as you’re playing through the game. I designed Bayonetta to be like my ideal woman so hopefully lots of gamers will find her attractive too!

PSLS: What were the main inspirations for the game?
Our influence came from lots of different things, from films, books and movies, and from architecture for some of our gameworlds. We’re always on the lookout for fresh ideas for all parts of our games, from character design to gameplay mechanics. With Bayonetta we wanted to go very big, and to create something that gamers hadn’t seen before and we hope that gamers will think we’ve done a good job when they play the game.

PSLS: On average how long is a play-through of the game?
This really depends on the skill of the player. I would estimate a full play-through would be around 10-12 hours but we have lots of unlockables and additional content to ensure the game has plenty of re-playability. We have several difficulty modes in there that will cater to every kind of player.

PSLS: How many different items can Bayonetta equip, and what types of items are in the game?
We have a huge array of different weapons in the game, from pistols to rocket launchers to katanas, and Bayonetta can use her magical powers and hair to attack her enemies too. You collect the weapons one by one as you advance in the game. Each weapon has both positives and negatives so a weapon that you get later in the game does not necessarily mean that it is a stronger weapon than ones you get earlier in the game.

All the weapons have their own characteristics. For example, one weapon has less power but is capable of quicker attacks, and another weapon could be great for the melee attack but not useful for long range attacks etc… So first you choose a weapon that works for you, and then improve your technique with it. And of course, there are many types of enemies, so you can have to change weapons to suit the battle situation.

Each weapon has different performances like a “Hand Weapon”, ”Foot Weapon” and “Hand & Foot Dual-Use Weapon”. This means you can search for the best combination for you. After you have mastered one style, you can try new styles to discover a brand new gameplay experience, so there’s almost endless customisation to the combat.

PSLS: Will Bayonetta be supported with DLC?
No, we won’t have DLC for Bayonetta. We have focused on making sure that Bayonetta has a huge amount of content so there’s plenty of replay value in the game. We wanted to really augment the player’s feeling of satisfaction when they purchase the game and can spend hours playing it.

PSLS: What other games if any are you working on, and what is next for Platinum Games?
I’m afraid we can’t really reveal anything at this stage. We do have lots of plans in the pipeline so you’ll hear more about this in due course.

PlayStation LifeStyle would like to thank Hideki Kamiya, Platinum Games and SEGA for allowing PSLS to conduct the interview. Stay tuned to PSLS for more interviews and PlayStation news.

Despite the hardships of creating a new studio after being fired from his old one, Tomonobu Itagaki has apparently bounced back and is more than ready to talk smack about his fellow developers. And one person in particular, Hideki Kamiya, is under Itagaki’s scrutiny.<br

And Bayonetta’s character design didn’t go over too kindly with Itagaki either during his E3 interview with 1UP.

“Covered in hair, is she? I dunno, Mr. Kamiya must have a lot going through his head. Well, in any case, I would first recommend laser eye surgery. I’m sure he’s not that strapped for cash, right?”

[<a
