Idol Minds, the developer behind the hit PSN title Pain, looks to be planning on creating a multi-platform title. Ouch, that hurts.
Idol Minds the development team responsible for the PlayStation Network title Pain, one of the most unique titles for the platform, have let slip that they are currently working on an unannounced Blu-Ray disc-based PS3 title. Likely a PS3 exclusive.
The folks at Idol Minds have put a tremendous amount of support into their PSN title, PAIN, garnering significant praise from their customers. But just to top things off, the developers have supposedly decided to make one last effort to promote their painful party game.
Since developer Idol Minds released Pain back in 2007, we’ve seen a steady supply of DLC. Be it, additional characters, game modes, or new environments, there is enough Pain to justify a visit to the emergency room. Soon Idol Minds will be bringing the ‘pain’ once again.
The PSN exclusive [shal]Pain[/shal] has seen its fair share of DLC. Ranging from new modes, characters, and levels. Well fresh from the SCEE press office comes new info on the next level coming to Pain.
PAIN flew onto PSN with much anticipation and criticism. A truly entertaining-looking game with a simple concept: “To cause pain and destruction”. Does the simple game play and overall humorous nature of this game make it a must-own? Or does the sheer lack of basic content hurt the overall experience?
Idol Minds, the makers of PAIN, are hard at work on their next game according to an update on the PAIN blog. But what’s surprising is that the developer isn’t working on a sequel to their hit title.
Daxter of Jak and Daxter fame will be making a Cameo in the up and coming Pain Sore Sports expansion pack, which will be released before the end of this month. Screenshot after the jump.
Pain is the most successful PSN download to date. The developers have been more then happy to keep extending the painful universe with all sorts of oddities to put your character in traction. Sore Spots will feature two arenas to maim yourself as well as new multiplayer areas.
