After Lost Planet 2‘s poor sales performance, many had wondered if Capcom would continue the IP. Keiji Inafune, head of R&D and global production at Capcom, however, still believes in the shooting series.
Lost Planet 2′s catch phrase is “Kill Big”, referring to the massive, towering enemies you’ll face throughout the game’s rough and tough terrain. However, thanks to a hot deal, the slogan should be changes to “Save Big”.
Shortly after its release, Lost Planet 2 players would eventually become frustrated with Lost Planet 2′s imminent bugs. Capcom are planning to address the problems as they’ve announced that it’s planning to release a rather large patch for Lost Planet 2 which will tweak several gameplay settings for both offline and online modes.
Lost Planet 2 was released recently as a sequel to the ambitious third-person shooter Lost Planet: Extreme Condition, and already there has been bugs discovered within the shooter pertaining to some of the game’s trophies. Now, Capcom’s included a trophy/achievement in Lost Planet 2 that rewards the player for not selling or trading the the game for six months.

One of the major additions during this generation on consoles is none other than the trophy system. Being rewarded for playing a game that you can then showoff, err, showcase to your friends is a major reward to many gamers. Even though the system is great, it’s far from perfect. Many times during games bugs in the system will fail from triggering a trophy you just earned and you’ll have to bend over backwards while juggle a dozen eggs to finally get it to work. It seems a trophy glitch has appeared in Lost Planet 2 and its a bug that might just make many new owners of the title quite furious upon completing the game.
PlayStation LifeStyle reported a few weeks back that the Japanese version of Capcom’s Lost Planet 2 would be receiving a DLC skin of the ever popularly Monster Hunter series in Japan. The ‘Rathalos’ armor was yet another skin revealed by Capcom to be featured in the game along with Albert Wesker from the Resident Evil series and Frank West from Dead Rising. The worst part was that at the time, the Monster Hunter skin was a japan-only exclusive. Not anymore! The DLC will hit soon and the best part for sure is the price.

Although there has been plenty of footage of Lost Planet 2 made available, so far nothing has featured the female presence in the game. This latest trailer shows off the “ferocious females” in action.

We reported early last week that Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker will feature a ‘Monster Hunter’ mode where Snake will enter the world of MH to hunt monsters, Metal Gear Style. Considering how popular Monster Hunter is in Japan, this is likely going to help sell hundreds of thousands of extra copies than it was originally going to. Capcom themselves is ready to cash-in on this idea as a few major Capcom identities will be entering the world of Lost Planet 2.
Even though you’ll be playing as different characters throughout Capcom’s Lost Planet 2, Capcom did more than just super size the sequel to the original hit title, as the storyline is going to be a major focus for the game and the newest trailer lays out the story for you. Will you fight to save E.D.N. III or Let the vile military force known as NEVEC drain the planet of its life force? After watching this trailer, I can promise you that you’re going to want to enlist in the Snow Pirate Brigade ASAP.
Sony are already working on 3D-ready PlayStation 3 games. However, 3rd parties aren’t being left in the dust as we’ve already seen with Batman: Arkham Asylum. Capcom has chosen to integrate 3D technology as they’ve revealed some games which is already 3D compatible.
