Singularity’s trophy list consists of 51 trophies total: 35 bronze, 15 silver, 1 gold, and the Platinum trophy.

Platinum Singularity (Platinum) – You collected all the trophies for Singularity.
- Collect all 50 trophies to unlock.

Pistol Whipped (Bronze) – 20 Centurion kills in single player campaign.
- The Centurion is the pistol and is the first gun you get in the game. Any enemies you kill will count, but the solders are a lot easier to kill with it then the mutants. Simply kill 20 of them.

A Salt and Battery (Bronze) – 40 AR9 Valkyrie kills in single player campaign.
- The AR9 Valkyrie is the machine gun. This trophy should be no problem since you will probably be using this one the most. Just kill 40 enemies.

Double Barrel (Bronze) – 30 Volk S4 kills in single player campaign.
- The Volk S4 is the shotgun. This should also be an easy trophy since other then the Valkyrie this will probably be used the most. Kill 30 enemies.

The Slower the Better (Bronze) – 25 Kasimov SNV-E99 slo-mo kills in single player campaign.
- The Kasimov SNV is the sniper rifle. When you press in on the left stick (L3) you go into slo-mo mode. Just get 25 kills in this mode.

You’re a Hit (Bronze) – 20 Spikeshot kills in single player campaign.
- This is your standard spike gun. The good thing with this gun is it explodes after it hits an enemy, so if you shoot into a crowd you will get more kills, and then you can get this trophy a lot quicker

Roller Derby (Bronze) – 20 Dethex Launcher kills in single player campaign.
- This gun is a little different. Once fired a ball will land on the ground. While holding L1 you can roll it around to kill enemies. Try and roll it into a group to get this trophy quicker.

Drive By (Bronze) – 15 Seeker kills in single player campaign.
- The Seeker is only used a few times in the game, but it is there enough to not have an issue with getting this trophy. Just kill 15 enemies whether that be from steering the bullets or simply shooting them point blank.

Return to Sender (Bronze) – Kill 5 enemies by grabbing rockets and launching them back in single player campaign.
- The first new power you get for your TMD is Gravity the ability to pick up objects. This also lets you grab rockets. Simply stop five and throw them back at the shooter.

Put the Dead in Deadlock (Bronze) – Kill 10 enemies inside a Deadlock in single player campaign.
- Another power you get for your TMD is Deadlock. This gives you the ability to create a ball of energy and when fired create an orb that slows done everything inside of it. Kill 10 enemies inside these orbs.

Up Close and Personal (Bronze) – Kill 20 enemies with Impulse in single player campaign.
- Impulse becomes your basic melee attack once you get the TMD. When you get close to an enemy hit R2 to kill and enemy. This is best used on solders since it kills them in one shot. Kill 20 of them.

Fire and Ice (Bronze) – Kill 10 enemies with Propane Tanks or Cryo Tanks in single player campaign.
- This can be done either by shooting the tanks near enemies or using the Gravity TMD effect and picking up and throwing them at enemies. Just get 10 kills this way.

Time Bandit (Bronze) – Grab 5 Shields from enemies in single player campaign.
- Occasionally enemies will come equipped with a shield. Simply steal five different enemies shields with the Gravity TMD upgrade.

Ashes to Ashes (Bronze) – Age 15 soldiers to Dust in single player campaign.
- The initial power of the TMD is to age objects either forward or backwards in time. Simply age 15 solders to dust.

Night of the Living Revert (Bronze) – Turn 15 soldiers in Reverts in single player campaign.
- The ability to turn solders in to Reverts is one of the last TMD upgrades you will get. Simply turn 15 solders into Reverts.

Fully Armed (Bronze) – Fully Upgraded 1 Weapon in single player campaign.
- You can upgrade any weapon at a weapons locker. You need weapon tech in order to upgrade. Each aspect (reload speed, damage and fire rate) can be upgraded twice. You will need a total of nine weapon techs to fully upgrade one weapon.

E99 Tech Geek (Bronze) – Purchased 10 different Hero Upgrades in single player campaign.
- The hero upgrades can be upgraded at any Augmenter. These only cost E99 to upgrade, but you will need to find blueprints scattered throughout the levels in order to unlock them.

Time’s on My Side (Bronze) – Purchased 5 different TMD Equipment items in single player campaign.
- Like the “E99 Tech Geek” you can purchase these from Augmenter’s. You will also need to find blueprints scattered around the level.

Pen Pal (Bronze) – Used the TMD to find 15 Chronic-Notes in single player campaign.
- Scattered throughout the world are cryptic notes written on walls. Sometimes they are hard to see since they are all but faded away. Use your TMD power to reverse time to read them. Just do this to 15 of them.

Stay After Class (Bronze) – Used the TMD to revert 10 Chalkboards in single player campaign.
- Just like “Pen Pal” you will find the broken chalkboards scattered throughout each level. Simply reverse time on 10 of these.

That Wheel? (Bronze) – Found the wheel. Will they ever explain this?
- Fans of the TV series Lost, the “Frozen Donkey Wheel” from the end of season 4 makes an appearance in the last level of the game. Check out the video below to see the location.
- This time it is a Metroid easter egg hidden deep within the hold of the Pearl. Watch the video below.
Note: Even though the video shows the 360 version its still the same on the PS3.

Click here to view the embedded video.

Extermination Expert (Bronze) – Play 5 public matches of Extermination.
- Extermination is one of the two online modes. Just play five matches.

CvS Master (Bronze) – Win 25 public matches of Creatures vs. Soldiers.
- Creatures vs. Soldiers is the other online mode. You will need to win 25 of these.

Creature Hater (Bronze) – Renew 25 beacons in Extermination (public match).
- Every round of extermination has three beacons. As a solders you need to restore 25 of these to full strength.

Creature Lover (Bronze) – Kill 15 soldiers with each creature (public match).
- There are four different type’s of creatures to choose. Just get 15 kills with each.

Fastball (Bronze) – Kill 15 soldiers with a Zek barrel (public match).
- One of the Zek’s special abilities is to conjure up a barrel out of thin air by pressing R1. Do this and kill 15 solders by throwing it with R1.

Zekky Style (Bronze) – Kill 15 soldiers from behind with the Zek (public match).
- When playing as the Zek you can use the phase walk by pressing R2. This will turn you mostly invisible then run up and melee a solders. Using the phase walk is not necessary for this trophy, but it makes it a lot easier.

Hot Lunch Special (Bronze) – Kill 25 soldiers with the Revery puke (public match).
- One of the Revery’s special attack is to puke on enemies. Do this by holding R1. Do this and kill 25 solders.

Bombs over Katorga (Bronze) – Kill 25 soldiers with the Radion’s Iob attack (public match).
- The Iob is one of the Radion’s main attack. It is an extremely powerful laser blast and can kill enemies from long distant. Kill 25 solders with this attack.

Talk to the Hand (Bronze) – Kill 25 creatures with the Bruiser’s Impulse Power (public match).
- While playing as the bruiser when you press R2 you use your TMD Impulse blast. Now this is not a particularly strong blast and other then the Phase Tick most enemies will need to be low on life in order for this to kill them.

Dr. Time (Bronze) – Use the Healer’s power to restore 25 soldiers to full health (public match).
- The Healer can heal injured solders by targeting them and pressing R2. Fully restore 25 solders health.

Don’t Touch Me! (Bronze) – Kill 15 creatures with the Lurker’s reflective shield damage from a melee hit (public match).
- While playing as the Lurker you can pull up a shield by pressing R2. When this is active any melee damage done to you will instead hurt your enemies. This will only last for a few seconds so timing is everything.

Blitzkrieg (Bronze) – Travel 585 meters using the Blitzer’s Teleport power (public match).
- The Blitzer can teleport by pressing R2. He does not teleport all that far so this trophy may take some time. Simple teleport as often as possible until you get this trophy.

Killer (Bronze) – Get highest number of kills in a public match.
- This is pretty straight forward just have the most kills at the end of a match. You must have the most kills on both your team and your opponent.

No Time to Bleed (Silver) – 15 Autocannon kills without reloading in single player campaign.
- This one can be a little hard since you only have 100 bullets before you need to reload, and trying to kill enemies from far away will cause you to miss quite often. Try and get this when your in a more confine space with a lot of enemies. Some of the best areas are on the Rail line or Central Docks.

Revert Bomber (Silver) – Killed 10 enemies by aging a Revert and having it explode near them in single player campaign.
- Again this is another rather difficult one. Unlike solders when you hit the Revert’s with the TMD they turn into a ticking time bomb. Do this when they are near solders so they go in to attack. Once there engaged shoot them to make them explode hopefully killing the solders.

Extermination Addict (Silver) – Play 100 public matches of Extermination.
- This is pretty straight forward just play 100 matches in the Extermination mode.

Extermination Master (Silver) – Win 25 public matches of Extermination.
- Just be on the winning side 25 times while playing extermination mode.

In Yo Face (Silver) – Possess 15 soldiers with tick leap attack (public match).
- As the tick you can posses solders. Simply get close and press L1 to leap at your enemy. Be careful, because the tick’s are very weak and it can be hard to get close.

The VP Treatment (Silver) – Possess a soldier, then shoot another soldier in the face (public match).
- Once you posses a solder with the tick you take control of that soldier. Once in control shoot another solder.

Time Master (Gold) – Completed Singularity on Hard Mode.
-Complete the game on hard.

Workers’ District (Silver) – Completed the Workers’ District Mission.
- Complete the first stage on any difficulty (Story mission can’t miss)

Research Facility (Silver) – Completed the Research Facility Mission.
- Complete the game on any difficulty (Story mission can’t miss)

NOTE: The three trophies below may spoil the end of the game.

The Good of the Many (Silver) – You sacrificed yourself to stop Demichev.

Singularity is the latest FPS released by Raven Software. It got much praise and a lot of hype last year, but since then not a lot has been said. With the hype gone and Singularity entering the already watered down FPS genre, can it succeed where so many have failed? Or was it simply sent to die?

Singularity’s story starts at the beginning of the cold war. The Soviets are worried about the threat of the Americans and there nuclear power, and they set out to find something to level the playing field. On Katorga-12 they discover a mysterious element called Element 99 and even though the element is very unstable they set out to try and control it. They set up a community on the island and run tests not only in the labs, but also on the children and residents. The studies continued until 1955 when there was in unexplained accident.

Fast forward to 2010 and a US spy satellites gets damaged from a sudden electromagnetic surge from Katorga-12. A black ops team is dispersed to this location to find the cause. On root there is another explosion that sends your chopper crashing into the island killing all but two of you. While trying to find the only other survivor, Devlin, there is a mysterious power surge that transports you back to 1955. While trying to escape a burning building you come across a man, Demichev, who is about to fall through a hole in the floor your instincts kick in and you save him from falling to his death. Upon saving him there is yet another shockwave that returns you to your time.

Once you return to 2010 you find that the island seems different. Statues have changed and you have lost all communication with the US. Worse yet, there are mutated creatures running around the island. Eventually you meet up with Devlin and try to escape… until you run into Demichev who is now a dictator controlling the entire world and wants you dead…..

Throughout Singularity you will have to fight your way through not only Demichev’s army, but also the mutated freaks that were left on the island after the explosion. Fighting through schools, underground labs and abandoned ships both in the present and the past. You must find out what has happened to the world and figure out how to stop Demichev and return the world to how it was meant to be. The story itself is told through brief cut scenes, flashbacks and recordings hidden around the island. The story is both intriguing and suspenseful as you encounter some rather horrifying creatures, and the forces of Demichev.

Singularity is a FPS with the gameplay heavily focused on what you would expect from a FPS, and that is shooting. The majority of the guns are pretty similar to what you will find in most FPS machine guns, shotguns and pistols, but the few unique weapons you come across are what really makes this game shine. The Seeker for instance is a special gun you only come across once in awhile and it always has limited ammo. Once the Seeker is fired you slow down time and can control where the bullets go. This is very helpful to clear out a room of enemy solders.

Once you find a weapon it is stored in a weapons locker. These are scattered all across the island, and upon finding one you can buy ammo, switch out weapons or upgrade your weapon. Upgrading each weapon requires Weapon Tech which is sometimes hard to find and will require you to search some areas. Once you acquire the weapon tech you can upgrade your weapons damage, fire rate and reload speed.

Now what Singularity does bring that is different then other FPS is the TMD (Time Manipulation Device). This device which is found pretty early in the game can move objects and humans backwards or forward in time. This becomes a key element when traversing the decaying grounds. You may need to reverse time on steps or control panels to access certain areas or fast forward a lock so you can get through a door or into a locker, or you may simply want to turn a solder into dust. You also gain new abilities for your TMD through TMD upgrade stations. These are usually stationed right before a certain area that you will need to use that new ability on. These abilities will let you pick up and move objects, create time altering bubbles that slow time and even transform solders into creatures. These new abilities will also aid you on different puzzles you find throughout the island.

The one down side of the TMD is it only effects humans and some objects, so a lot of time you won’t be able to just run around manipulating everything. They have a pretty set path for you to go and even though you can venture to some side rooms the game is pretty linear. It really is a shame since some of your best ideas end up not panning out since you aren’t allowed to transform an object.

Throughout the island you will be collecting E99. This will be used to buy new ammo at the weapon lockers. You also will be using the E99 at Augmenters. The Augmenters are used to increase your health, the amount of health packs you can carry and even increase accuracy. These abilities are not usually available for purchase and only unlock when you find blueprints. Once you find these blueprints you then can purchase a new perk to aid you in the fight. These abilities become key in the later stages of the game when sometimes the enemies start to overwhelm you.

The overall sound and graphics are pretty well done. The sound of the creatures and the decaying world around you really add to the suspense and loneliness you experience. From a creaking door to a scream of a mutant, it really helps to keep you on the edge of your seat. The voice acting is also very well done, and helps to pull you into the game even more. There are on occasions some graphical glitches, but none are game breaking. The atmosphere that Singularity creates is what really sets it apart from other FPS. There are some genuinely frightening areas that will have you on the edge of your seat and probably even a few inches in the air. Although its not the most freighting game I’ve played the suspense it creates was very enjoyable.

The game itself does have a few downfalls; there are some odd difficulty spikes even on the easiest setting where I found myself struggling to complete a section on multiple occasions. It also would of been nice to see more variation in the enemies. After about halfway though the game you’ve seen pretty much all they have to throw at you. This game is set up perfectly for some epic boss battles and other than one or two, you only have to deal with waves of enemies. This is a shame because what they do have there is great and it would of been nice to see what else they could of thrown at us had they only tried to push the envelope.

Singularity does come with some online multiplayer as well, but it is pretty bare bones. The two game modes they offer are creatures vs solders (standard death match) and Extermination (attack and defend). Each mode pegs one side as the creatures and the other as the humans. Again, pretty boilerplate stuff here. The human sides can choose between four different classes each having a unique TMD skill, you also get to choose your weapon and a perk. The creatures side can choose one of four creatures as well. Each creature has its own unique set of abilities. You also get to choose two perks. Although the online is a ton of fun especially playing as the creatures it is a real shame they couldn’t of added more. You should be able to get a few hours of fun, but this looks to fade out pretty quickly.

Although it does have its down sides, overall Singularity delivered a fun experience in a unique world.
<table

Activision and Raven Software are banking on the fact that gamers love time manipulation as much as the protagonist in Singularity. In the game Deadlock can create a small field capable of stopping time and allowing players to destroy their enemies or avoid damage.

As mentioned, Amazon is giving away a free graphic novel with pre-orders of the game. It is illustrated by artists including David Atchinson (Occult Times Taskforce), Christopher Morrison (Dust, 13 Chambers), Davide Fabbri (Star Wars on Dark Horse) and Tom Mandrake (Batman, The Punisher) but it doesn’t stop there. On top of the graphic novel, you will also receive a code for $20 off any future video game purchase, as well as a $5 credit for the Amazon MP3 downloads section. So that’s a free comic, $20 off your next game, and $5 of free MP3s all for the normal price of $59.99 USD (or less if the price drops between now and when the game ships). Is that enough to entice you to buy this sci-fi shooter? Get it X-Men Origins: Wolverine was announced as an upcoming movie, many wondered what the video game tie-in would be like, and if it would be a failure like so many other titles. Raven Software chose to answer that by being the one to take the helm and develop this title. The question is does it become just another movie game, or does it stand out above the rest?

The user takes on the role of the ultimate badass, Wolverine, as he goes on the hunt for his brother, Victor Creed, also known as Sabretooth. The game features a full 5 chapters to venture through which shift from present day to Wolverine’s past throughout the title. Wolverine’s past takes players into the African jungle where they encounter enemies ranging from machete wielders to statues that come to life. During this time, players see what Wolverine remembers, and the ultimate reason that he chose to leave Stryker’s task force.

In the present day, Wolverine continues his journey to track down Creed, but by the end of the game, players learn some unexpected things. Of course, those who have seen the movie will already know mostly everything. Players will encounter many characters from the Marvel Universe, both good and bad, and many environments, ranging from frozen islands to high security bases. The environments are great, including weather effects and interactive objects.

This title is hack and slash at its finest. But don’t expect to make it far if you don’t learn the controls and combos. The game isn’t overly complicated, but just button mashing will not cut it. The game is dark, gruesome, and features some amazing looking finishing moves performed by Wolverine. I was actually surprised by how bloody the title is, but that’s a good thing. Wolverine is a character who takes out enemies with extremely sharp adamantium claws, so there should be some blood.

There are many ways to take out enemies, including throwing them into and impaling them on sharp objects. To see which objects can be used to do this, players can push up on the D-pad and it will activate Wolverine’s feral senses. This allows him to see interactive objects, enemies, and the correct direction to go.
<hr

Back when Wolfenstein 3D was released, it presented cutting-edge technology and helped expose a lot of gamers to the world of 3D shooters. Now 10 years later, can Wolfenstein inspire a whole new generation of gamers, or has time passed this franchise by?

The story takes place during WWII and starts the narrative on a Nazi ship where sailors are looking for a spy on board. Enter your character BJ Blazkowicz, the series veteran who single-handedly shut down Hitler’s Übersoldat program and thwarted the resurrection of ancient superhuman, King Heinrich I. He has been sent to stop a missile attack, and while onboard he finds a medallion that carries some sort of mythical power. The allies’ scientists discover that the medallion is the Thule Medallion, and it is used to control the Black Sun. They conclude that to get more answers, BJ needs to go to Isenstadt to find out what the Nazis are up to, as well as help out the local resistance.

BJ also discovers a second medallion, and learns that when used he can enter something called the Veil. The Veil allows BJ to see a darker realm where creatures are flying around and secret doors are visible, that otherwise can’t be seen with normal vision. The Veil also posses quite a few benefits, such as illuminating your enemies to make them easier targets. BJ can also move quicker with the Veil throughout the game. As BJ discovers more crystals he unlocks more abilities like the ability to slow time or conjure up a shield.

The gameplay in Wolfenstein is pretty standard for an FPS, and though it doesn’t bring anything new to the table, it does it fairly well. The shooting mechanics are well incorporated, and the ability to have the Veil powers spiced up the action. Although the missions themselves were quite linear, how you receive your missions isn’t. Isenstadt is BJ’s main base of operations, and is essentially an open world. You can travel freely throughout the streets and most buildings, as well as the sewers and rooftops. Within Isenstadt, there is also a black market where you can purchase upgrades for weapons, as well as veil powers.

Since forming in July 2008, UK based Endrant Studios has been working in parallel with Raven Software to finish the multiplayer aspect of Wolfenstein, the newest entry in the classic horror FPS series. So it came as a surprise to the team when key members were fired on Tuesday, the same day as the game’s release.

A spokesperson for the (previously) 17-person studio had this to say:

“We have recently completed a development cycle and have regrettably been forced to make adjustments to staff and headcounts. Those affected are valued members of our team who have worked incredibly hard on our latest title. We hope that they land on their feet quickly.”

It’s unfortunate that the people responsible for the cuts felt that employees are expendable at any moment, and we can only hope that others stay wary of development studios that conduct their business this way.
Raven Software, developers of the X-men Origins game, were recently asked what their next project would be if they had to choose. This is what project lead Dan Vondrak had to say:

“That’s very easy, that’d be Deadpool. We’re huge fans of Deadpool. When we made X-Men 2, we made sure to put Deadpool in there and give him plenty of little Easter eggs and conversations. We love the character. His smartass attitude. So that’d be the guy we’d probably go after.”

Vondrak also likes Deadpool “the way he is in the comics”, which means a Deadpool game from Raven Software would be “absolutely 100%” authentic. When asked about the version of Deadpool seen in the new X-Men movie, Vondrak said it’s “not the first choice I would have made.”

Would any of you readers be interested in a Deadpool game?
