Chimera Invade New Resistance 3 Screens

Since the VGAs, new information on the highly anticipated Resistance 3 has been pouring in. Resistance 3 will feature an all new campaign placing the player in control of Joseph Capelli as the new protagonist, taking place 4 years after the events of Resistance 2. In an improved cooperative mode, 2 Players will be able to team up offline and online to fight the Chimeran horde throughout the campaign. Also, with a re-focused competitive multiplayer mode, new weapons that are upgradeable throughout the game, and smarter enemies than ever, Resistance 3 should prove to be the best in the series.

Now, new screen shots of the game have surfaced and they look great. It appears Capelli will be defending his boat from impending doom as he makes his away across the US in his most perilous mission yet. Fighting off the ever frightening grims that now leap over any obstacle in their way, as well as enormous robotic weapons looks better than ever. Close inspection also reveals that Capelli may be traveling quite a distance on his vessel, as evidenced by snow in one picture that is completely absent in the others. Zaitsev’s Mystery Suit in Stunning Detail Vanquishes Retinas

Sam Gideon of Vanquish should’ve had it easy. His Augmented Reaction Suit (ARS) is bleeding edge technology, and his Battlefield Logic Adaptable Electronic Weapons Systems (BLADE) allows him to change weapons according to combat needs in real-time. Quite frankly, it would’ve been easy only if the Russian Federation didn’t have something up its sleeve.

Victor Zaitsev, Vanquish‘s primary antagonist, has a mystery “bogey” that’s going to give Sam all he can handle and then some. Although Sam and Victor may be equally matched, I think Sam still wins points in the “my suit is cooler than your suit” category. Bulletstorm gamescom Screens Storm Through

EA, People Can Fly and Epic Games had pulled back the curtain a few months back on their epic (pun intended) looking shooter, Bulletstorm. Electronic Arts’ gamescom press conference which took place today showed a new look at Bulletstorm leading to a new batch of amazingly-detailed screenshots. Catch ‘em after the break.

Players step into the role of the game’s protoginist, Grayson Hunt, who is equipped with an arsenal of “over-the-top combat moves and outrageously large guns.” The game will also feature ’skillshots’; a gameplay element which produces unprecedented levels of frantic gameplay and satisfaction. The skillshot system rewards players for causing mayhem in the most creative way possible. By successfully carrying out ’skillshot’s players collects points which then can be used to upgrade their character and unlock weapons – leading to execute even more creative moves and exaggerated skillshots.

Bulletstorm is described as one of “next year’s most anticipated original games” so you won’t want to miss this once 2011 arrives.

New Ratchet & Clank Online Co-op Game: All 4 One Revealed

As Insomniac Games grew, the fan-favorite company opened a new studio in North Carolina to increase the amount of games they could output per year. A new Ratchet and Clank game, focusing on online co-op multiplayer has been revealed as their fruits of the new studio’s labor.

Insomniac Games’ CEO Ted Price made an appearance at the end of Sony’s gamescom presser and announced that the company are hard at work on the first ever one-to-four player cooperative, online/offline, drop-in/drop-out Ratchet & Clank title, Ratchet and Clank: All 4 One. Captain Qwark and Dr. Nefarious make up the 4 characters playable in the PlayStation 3 exclusive.

Ratchet and Clank: All 4 One is based on cooperative play throughout the entire game. Insomniac say they are “working hard to capture the feeling of fighting through amazing battles with other players, whether they are on the couch next to you or playing online half-a-world away.”

Dirty DiRT 3 Screens Makes Pitstop

ESPN’s X-Games 16 descended upon Los Angeles a few weeks ago. The event also saw the release of DiRT 3’s first trailer which gave a taste of what Codemasters’ upcoming filthily titled racer will deliver. To showcase the title a bit more, a new batch of screenshots for the rally game have been released.

Rally racing is once again the name of the game in DiRT 3, where physics-based car tuning is can be experienced in exotic environments. All this was showcased in the game’s trailer. DiRT 3 is currently scheduled to be racing towards a 2011 release.

Naughty Dog Dev Bringing Concepts For ICO-like Game

The guys over at Naughty Dog have proved that they could bring innovation and awesome ideas to the PS3 with Uncharted 2. One of the many great things remembered from both of the Uncharted series was the lush and seemingly alive environments which was first envisioned by their talented team of concept artists. It now looks like Naughty Dog isn’t shy to lend a hand from their skilled art department to bring inspiration on another interesting game in development.

Eytan Zana, one of the concept artists from Naughty Dog, has posted some environment sketches on his blog (see below) for what he called an “ICO inspired project.” He further stated that he is working closely with Matt Nava, who was the art director for the PSN downloadable Flower. The developers behind the Flower project, known as thatgamecompany, have already been hard at work on their next title, which they claim will be an exotic adventure. And since Naughty Dog is already paving the way for Uncharted 3 and will probably need all hands at work, Eytan Zana could very well be working this on the side with Nava.

With Zana behind the helm with some of the art on this “new” title, let’s hope that the level editors can capture the emotion he brought to the environment in Uncharted. Either way, that guy is definitely suited for the job.

Vanquish Gets Fabulous Set of Screens

Shinji Mikami-directed sci-fi shooter Vanquish edges ever closer to its projected October release. The over-the-top-action-filled game has everyone talking with each trailer, gameplay footage and screenshots. To help quench your thirst for more Vanquish-related media and ease your wait for the game’s release, a new batch of screens have been released showcasing why this certain title is in every gamers mind.

Vanquish is primarily a third-person shooter with a prominence on action. The game, which is currently scheduled for an October release, will follow a government-backed soldier named Sam as he takes on hordes of robotic enemies which is set in a planet where an energy crisis has again put the America and Russia at odds.

Vanquish is the last of four games that fall under a publishing deal PlatinumGames signed with Sega back in 2008. Other titles released as part of said deal include Madworld, Bayonetta, and Infinite Space. Mikami said that the development team’s goal with Vanquish is “to inject the extreme pace of an action game into a shooter” and indeed exactly that is showcased in a recently released trailer.

First Tony Hawk: Shred Screens Arrives

While Tony Hawk’s last game, Tony Hawk: Ride was, unfortunately for Hawk, released to a harsh critic reception mainly due to its dependence on a new balance board peripheral, Hawk has remained faithful in the add-on’s technology. The developers will be standing by the board, and it’ll be utilized for Hawk’s latest game, Tony Hawk: Shred. To get a taste of what to expect from the upcoming skateboarding and snowboarding title, publishers Activision has released a new set of Shred screenshots.

Tony Hawk: Shred has previously been tipped to feature snowboarding and these latest shots showcase exactly that along with the skateboarding aspects of the ambitious game. Check the new shots out below:

When Tony Hawk’s next game, Shred, was officially unveiled by Activision, representatives from the company had refused to respond to requests for clarification regarding whether Shred will be a skateboarding game or a snowboarding game or both. The term “shred” is a staple of snowboarding parlance. However, “shred” is also frequently used by skateboarders.

A Tony Hawk title featuring snowboarding was definitely not out of the question. Just look at champion snowboarder Shaun White getting his own skateboarding game which is in development by Ubisoft. Hawk has never snowboarded professionally; however, many of his games have featured the sport. Tony himself admitted that the balance board used in Ride would be suited for a game based on the sport.

Visit Tales of Graces F With New Batch of Screens

With Tales of Graces F getting its announcement a few days ago, Namco Bandai have finally released a huge crop of screenshots for the enhanced Wii port. The game will see much the same treatment that Tales of Vesperia did when it went from 360 to PS3, with all costumes, a long after-story taking place six months after the end of the game, new moves, and much, much more.

Along with the batch of screenshots we have included the teaser trailer that was released along with the game announcement. Tales of Graces F is scheduled for release in Japan this winter. No word yet on if this game is making its way to the states but hopefully this and Vesperia will make it our way soon.

Kaka Graces FIFA 11 Cover

EA Sports must be sitting somewhere with smiles gracing their faces. Why? Oh, maybe due to the fact that the mega developers FIFA franchise has been the best selling sport series in history, with FIFA 10 nearing 10 million units sold since its release last year. Also, the World Cup further boosted EA Sports overall success with 2010 FIFA World Cup giving the company a massive financial boost during April-June. Their football games portfolio for 2010 will see the introduction of FIFA 11 this Fall, and while millions of fans wait in sheer anticipation, the footballer to grace the cover of the game has been revealed.

Ricardo Izecson dos Santos Leite (Kaka), who currently plays for Real Madrid, will be on FIFA 11′s cover in multiple regions. The United Kingdom version of FIFA 11, meanwhile, will see Kaka accompany Wayne Rooney who will make his fifth consecutive appearance for FIFA covers.

Kaka even commented on the news with the world cup star saying:

“I’ve always been a fan of EA SPORTS and especially the FIFA series. Being on the FIFA 11 cover is a great honor for me since very few players have this opportunity, and there have been some great footballers featured on the cover of this truly amazing football game.”

How Kaka got onto the cover of the forthcoming FIFA game truly amazes me and surely countless others. He’s been injured for the majority of last season and faces up to a staggering 4 month wait to start the new season due to an injury. But, hey, EA Sports has shown multiple times they can improve on every FIFA installment so let’s hope exactly that applies to FIFA 11. The full cover can be viewed below.

FIFA 11 will be shooting into retail this Fall. More precisely, a September 28th release date for North America and October 1st for European territories. Metal Gear Arcade Finally Rolling Out the Quarters

If you’ve been following Metal Gear for as long as I have chances are you’re a fan of the award-winning series starring the four snakes. The action-packed series has managed to sell tens of millions of copies spanning several media, all of which have been on home-entertainment platforms. That all is about to change with what the Japanese are calling Metal Gear Arcade.

An all-new Metal Gear Arcade game is beginning to appear in large Japanese cities such as Tokyo. The game is set in a Metal Gear Online type of environment and not only utilizes giant plastic laser guns but even supports 3D technology. While Metal Gear Arcade has only been available for limited demonstration, it has been very popular and should be seeing permanent arcade release soon.

EA Play Lets Families ‘Create’ Their Own Fun This Holiday Season

EA Play announced today a new game that seems to be tailored to the audience of LittleBigPlanet. Dubbed ‘Create’, the game focuses on creative solutions to difficult problems. Giving players a multitude of tools to use, players will be able to effectively create and add to their own world as they solve the game’s most challenging problems and puzzles.

EA’s new adventure, Create, promises to deliver “imaginative gameplay challenges”, utilizing player’s creativity to unlock and solve puzzles. Players are given the tools to not only complete these colorful and fun levels, but the ability to ‘create’ their very own levels, using intuitive brushes, models and pallets. Best of all, the in-game community feature allows you to upload your own levels so friends can try out your masterpieces! You’re challenged to Play Create and Share your… eerr wait no. Sorry that’s the LittleBigPlanet slogan. I don’t know how I confused that.

Harvey Elliott, VP and General Manager at EA Bright Light explained more about Create’s family-friendly style, and how his studio came up with the idea:

“Create uses families’ imaginations to develop new ways to play together that are both fun and challenging. We wanted to design a game where the entire family can explore, decorate, and solve challenges where no solution is wrong and the only limit is the imagination.”

Create will be released in November on the Wii, XBox 360, PC and utilizing Move support on the PS3.

Now we’re not saying Create is some sort of clone, or a copy-cat version of LittleBigPlanet 2 in order to somehow, I don’t know, thwart sales of the spectacular, original title also scheduled for release at that time… Check out the debut trailer below and see for yourself how different it is:
