No more waiting… Sony’s “surprise sequel” has been announced…
It’s no secret that Sony’s first foray into portable gaming has unfortunately been plagued by an aggressive barrage of piracy. We know this. Developers know this. Sony knows this. However, the one thing that seems to elude everyone affected is how to stop it. With the recent release of SOCOM: Fireteam Bravo 3, Sony hopes [...]
One of the most popular and successful series in the PlayStation family is the tactical third-person shooter series, SOCOM. Originally developed by Zipper Interactive on the PlayStation 2, the SOCOM series has since then seen various spinoffs spanning into the territories of the PSP and PS3. Fortunately, now that the final game has been dated, [...]
Is it the “massive” hit Sony was expecting? Find out in our review…
Although the tactical PSP shooter, SOCOM Fireteam Bravo 3, has been delayed numerous times by developer Slant Six, it looks like there will be at least one more delay in store for the game. Slant Six has been awfully quiet on the situation, as the game was originally scheduled for a late 2009 release, and [...]
MAG is getting closer than ever. The title is scheduled to release a mere month from now, with a date of January 26th in the US. Massive Action Game has been heavily anticipated for quite some time. It is the first PS3 title from SOCOM developer Zipper Interactive.
The SOCOM series of third-person tactical shooters has a long history on the PlayStation consoles. Beginning on the PlayStation 2, it had one of the best online multiplayer offerings for all of the last generation of consoles. SOCOM: U.S. Navy SEALs Confrontation is the series’ latest offering, the first developed by Slant Six instead of [...]
SOCOM fans can rejoice as the SOCOM saga will continue before years end. Slant-Six will deliver another episode of the team based action game exclusively to the PlayStation Portable. Wraith is back for this installment leading his team of Navy Seals and is hot on the trail of a former KGB agent.
PlayStation LifeStyle reported that the MAG public beta would be starting September 17th 2009. Looks as though that report was right, as a recent post on the US PlayStation Blog confirms.
Hear that? That’s the sound of people not holding their breath over details of a SOCOM patch. And really, with the constant delays and empty promises loyal fans of the series have received throughout the months, can you blame them? Hopefully new intel will help put all of you frustrated soldiers at ease.
If you could guess right now, what you say is the PS3’s most popular online title? Warhawk? Killzone 2? How about Resistance 2? Well, it’s none of those. And the answer may surprise you.
A rumor was posted yesterday that shared details that Syphon Filter 5 and SOCOM 4 were currently in development for the PlayStation 3. Now, PCB Productions has come forward and explained the confusion.
If you’ve already read the title, then you may have had the same expression as the picture above. Two franchises from Sony Computer Entertainment, SOCOM and Syphon Filter, will be getting sequels on the PS3, according to the PCB Production Credits page.
Now that MAG’s gameplay has been fully revealed, Zipper Interactive (the creative minds behind the SOCOM series) has kindly shown to the world the three factions of MAG.
The latest SOCOM: Confrontation update, 1.60, is set to be one of the best updates the title has gotten yet.
