Or were you hoping to use your glowing controller to electrocute people without having to buy a new game? In that case, you will be happy to hear that the original inFamous 2 has received an update to include motion support.

Similar to LittleBigPlanet 2, the support comes a few months after the game’s release date. This control scheme supposedly targets the casual gamers instead of the hardcore. For some, controllers are a little bit intimidating to use, so this will hopefully bridge that barrier. If you are still confused of how the Move works, watch the Festival of Blood trailer:

<br

Maybe it is the time to do a second run-through to get that second ending.
<hr

Not only did the game feature improved gameplay and detailed environments, but inFamous 2 let players create their own levels. User-generated content (UGC) quickly climbed to over 50,000 levels. Sucker Punch revealed that they would like to continue to support their play, create, share community.

A free DLC pack is available right now on the PSN. The pack features a brand new search feature for UGC levels to help players find levels they want to play. Gamers can search by several terms, including PSN user name. The DLC also contains 5 new objects to use in UGC levels.

In this first of many UGC updates, you’ll gain access to a number of vehicles from the single-player missions of inFAMOUS 2: Bertrand’s Limo, Bertrand’s Semi-Truck, the New Marais Police Car, the Ambulance, and a bike. Heal injured pedestrians from the flipped over ambulance and protect them from the swarm of enemies. Help the New Marais Police department from incoming attack from the Vermaak 88 Ice Soldiers. Or hunt down that pesky bicycle thief.

Throwing cars at enemies is fun, but raining down deadly bicycles on unsuspecting enemies is a special treat. Should you feel the desire, you can collect every trophy in inFamous 2, thanks to our community guide, brought to you by siteunleashed. Check out the full list of the trophies and how to collect them below.

Note: In order to platinum you will need to play through the game twice. My suggestion is that you go through once all evil and once all good. Complete the game once on hard and do the second play through on easy in order to finish faster and get more XP.

Pain Builds Character (Gold) – Finish the game on hard difficulty.

You will get this trophy by finishing the game on Hard difficulty. You will need to switch the difficulty the moment you have control of Cole at the beginning of the game when you jump off the boat to fight the Beast in order to ensure getting the trophy.

Just One More (Gold) – Pick up all the blast shards scattered around New Marais.

This requires you to get every blast shard. This is a piece of cake as long as you purchase Blast Shard Sense, which will direct you to the closest blast shard no matter how far away it is.

With Great Power Comes Greater Power (Silver) – Unlock and purchase all powers.

To do this you will need to purchase every power and upgrade. Do this on your second play through on Easy because you will get more XP and upon finishing the second time you are awarded 15000 XP which helps. It also helps if you do it on Evil since it is a little bit easier to get XP when you can wail on civilians.

Shardcore (Silver) – Pick up 50% of blast shards scattered around New Marais.

Will come with Just One More.

Fight the Good Fight (Silver) – Unlock the good ending.

After getting the last blast core you will have a choice of unlocking one of two endings. Pick the good ending to unlock this trophy.

Forging Your Own Path (Silver) – Unlock the evil ending.

After getting the last blast core you will have a choice of unlocking one of two endings. Pick the evil ending to unlock this trophy.

Land Lord (Silver) – Take over the first island in New Marais.

This requires you to take over an island of New Marais. do so by completing side missions in the area. If an area hasn’t been cleared, visit it and defeat some enemies. One should drop a Convoy or Hidden Package mission.

It’s My Town, Now (Silver) – Take over the second island in New Marais.

See Land Lord.

Well inFORMED (Silver) – Collect all Dead drops.

This requires you to find all the dead drops which shouldn’t be too hard if you are also looking for blast shards since the two are usually in the same area.

Arch Villain (Silver) – Earn full negative Karma.

This is simple. Become completely evil. Make all evil decisions, do all evil side missions, blow up blast shard bombs, kill civilians by spamming powers in populated areas.

Incorruptible (Silver) – Earn full positive Karma.

Just as simple. Become completely good. This means making all good decisions, doing hero side missions, healing civilians, disabling bombs, and stopping muggings.

Behind the Curtain (Bronze) – Collect 50% of the available Dead Drops.

Will come with Well inFORMED.

A Streetcar Named “Boom” (Bronze) – Complete BOOM!

This is a morality choice in a story mission. Pick the red circle and you will get the trophy.

Quid Pro Kuo (Bronze) – Complete Leading the Charge.

This is a morality choice in a story mission. Pick the blue circle and you will get the trophy.

Playing Both Sides (Bronze) – Complete Fooling the Rebels.

This is a morality choice in a story mission. Pick the red circle and you will get the trophy.

Ambulance Chaser (Bronze) – Complete Hearts and Minds Campaign.

This is a morality choice in a story mission. Pick the blue circle and you will get the trophy.

Am I The Daddy? (Bronze) – Complete Nix’s New Family.

This is a morality choice in a story mission. Pick the red circle and you will get the trophy.

Exposure (Bronze) – Complete Exposing Bertrand.

This is a morality choice in a story mission. Pick the blue circle and you will get the trophy.

The Cleaner (Bronze) – Complete the assassination side missions.

To get this you need to complete the missions Taking out the Trash (evil choice of an early story mission), Assassin’s Greed, and The Hunt.

Frozen Asset (Bronze) – Complete the ice Conduit side missions.

To get this you will need to complete the missions where you fight side by side with an ice conduit. The missions are Unlikely Allies, Stay Frosty, The Big Chill, and Mercy Kill.

Dazed and Defused (Bronze) – Take down the Blast Shard Bomber.

Complete the side mission The Gauntlet and you will get this trophy.

Back at the Bayou (Bronze) – Return to the swamp blockade.

Return to the swamp blockade from when you first arrive in New Marais.

Mountaineer (Bronze) – Climb to the top of the 3 tallest buildings in New Marais.

Climb to the top of the three tallest buildings which are the Cathedral, the Clock Tower, and the Ice Tower.

Extreme Makeover (Bronze) – Destroy 30 verandas or other large objects.

Get 30 Big Destruction awards which you can get for destroying verdanas, towers, and other large objects.

Watch That First Step (Bronze) – Defeat an enemy by destroying the object they stand on.

This requires you to defeat an enemy by destroying the object they stand on. This is easy with the towers enemies will be in as well as if any enemies are on top of cars.

Finish What You Started (Bronze) – Perform 100 finishers or ultra melee combos.

Perform 100 finishers with Amp. This is much easier when you have the Amp fully upgraded. After that just use melee as often as you can when fighting enemies and press to perform the finishers.

Knockout in the Blackout (Bronze) – Defeat 50 enemies in powered down areas while no missions are active.

Defeat 50 enemies while no mission is active (including missions where you power up areas). This is easiest if you find enemies in a blacked out area that is close to a powered up region. Go into the blacked out region, defeat the enemies, come back out until they respawn. Repeat until the trophy pops up.

Go Long! (Bronze) - Hurl 50 objects using the Kinetic Pulse ability.

Just throw 50 objects, be it cars or barrels, using the Kinetic Pulse power and you should get the trophy.

Cole Blooded (Bronze) – Defeat 100 civilians.

This requires you to defeat 100 civilians. This is easy to do and is better to do on the evil play through. Just find populated areas and spam with grenades, rockets, and ionic powers.

Army of Me (Bronze) – Defeat 300 enemies.

Defeat 300 enemies. You should get this by the end of the game.

Hero to the People (Bronze) – Stop 80 crimes in progress.

Stop 80 crimes in progress. The crimes in progress that you can stop are Bombs, Muggings, and Kidnappings. Be sure not to kill the civilian(s) when stopping the crime. I would suggest using the Amp for Muggings and Precision for Kidnappings.

Nothing Can Bring Me Down (Bronze) – Stay off the ground for 130 meters.

Stay off the ground for 130 meters. This is easy. Climb to the top of the clock tower or other high point, use your thrusters, and keep going until you reach the ground.

Return to Sender (Bronze) – Send a Helicopter’s rockets back at it using any Blast ability.

This requires you to fire a helicopter’s rockets back at it using a blast ability. Certain missions will have you encounter a helicopter. Dodge the bullets until it starts pointing lasers at you. This means that it is about to fire rockets. Aim at the helicopter and once they are fired use a blast ability repeatedly and you should get the trophy.

Vehicular Manslaughter (Bronze) – Defeat 25 enemies by throwing cars at them.

This requires you to defeat 25 enemies by throwing cars at them. The streets of New Marais are filled with cars, so whenever you see an enemy, use kinetic pulse to pick up a car and throw it at them. It will only register if a Take Down appears after you throw the car at the enemy.

Take Them for a Spin (Bronze) – Hit at least 6 cars in a single Ionic Vortex.

Find a straight street with lots of cars and use Ionic Vortex. You need to hit at least 6 cars to get the trophy.

Shock and Awe (Bronze) – Thunder drop into a group of 5 or more enemies.

This requires you to thunder drop onto a group of 5 or more enemies. A popular mission to do this in would be the Masquerade side mission.

Thunder Flop (Bronze) – Thunder drop from the highest place in New Marais.

Climb to the top of the ice tower and do a thunder drop to the ground. This should get you the trophy.

Head Hunter (Bronze) – Use the Precision ability to rack up three head shots in rapid succession.

This requires you to use Precision to rack up three headshots in quick succession. This is easiest to do on a group of enemies that haven’t seen you yet or a stronger enemy that can take multiple headshots. Make sure you get the Precision Headshock Award.

Discerning Taste (Bronze) – Take down a street performer who is imitating a statue.

Take down a statue street performer. They will be a greyish color and can found with the Red Music note marker on your map.

I’m As Shocked As You Are (Bronze) – Defeat an enemy or civilian by stepping in water.

Defeating an enemy or civilian by stepping in water. This is most easily accomplished in Flood Town where water is abundant.

Don’t Fence Me In (Bronze) – Climb a chain link fence and rejoice.

Just climb a chain link fence.

Express Elevator (Bronze) – Ascend 50 vertical launch poles.

Many buildings will have poles that launch you up the side of the building. Go up 50 of them to get this trophy.

Heavy Hitter (Bronze) – Use your Ionic Powers 30 times.

This requires you to use your Ionic Powers 30 times. The easiest way to do this is to use your power as soon as you see an enemy has dropped another charge.

Matching Set (Bronze) – Unlock and purchase a power of each type by performing stunts.

Will come with With Great Power Comes Greater Power.

Level Up (Bronze) – Create a new mission using the UGC level editor.

Create a UGC mission. It doesn’t have to be any good.

UGC Curious (Bronze) – Play 10 user-generated missions.

Will come with UGC veteran.

UGC Veteran (Bronze) – Play 25 user-generated missions.

Complete 25 UGC missions which are the green missions marked on your map.

Trail Blazer (Bronze) – Play 5 user-generated missions under the Newest filter.

Set your UGC filter to Newest. Play 5 of these missions and you should get this trophy.

Closed Casket Affair (Bronze) – Give Bertrand what he wants.

This is story related and you will get it regardless of your morality.

Status Kuo (Bronze) – Choose Kuo in Storm the Fort.

When the time comes decide to switch powers with Kuo.

Get Nix’ed (Bronze) – Complete Nix’s New Family.

When the time comes decide to switch powers with Nix.

inFAMOUS 2, they can get inFAMOUS 2: Hero Edition for a great deal from GameStop.

Originally when the game released the Hero Edition retailed for $99.99. Gamestop has slashed that price down to $59.99, which is quite a bit. If you happen to pick up the game, you will receive the following:

inFAMOUS 2 game

Exclusive limited edition 8.5″ Cole MacGrath statue

Replica sling pack

Super voucher that gives access to in game content – including the Lightning Hook Power, Electrocution Grenade Power, Kessler Skin, and 24K Gold Amp weapon variant

Mini inFAMOUS #1 comic from DC Comics

Official inFAMOUS 2 soundtrack

Below is a picture of everything included:

<img

Everything in the collector’s edition is top notch quality, and well worth it. The current regular edition is being sold for $49.99 at Gamestop, so you are paying $10 more for a ton of extras. Will you be picking this up at your E3 2011. While the title is looking to be a critical success in terms of reception, the Bellevue, Washington-based studio appears to be hard at work in preparations for their next project. According to a job listing by Sucker Punch, the inFamous developers are in need of a senior producer for their next project which those who have completed inFamous 2 will know, may or may not be inFamous 3. With Sucker Punch being a 2nd party independent studio, they could follow Insomniac’s lead and create a multiplatform title, but with the job listing specifically listing only the PlayStation 3 platform, PlayStation owners can rest easy. Regardless of what the title is set to be, the potential producer on the title will need to come experienced with at least five years in the game development industry having released an AAA title and “a passion for console games”. Along with a senior producer, the studio is also still in need of an art director, lead sound designer, and a senior game designer.
<p

Like a meteor from outer space it’s a force of destruction too powerful for humanity to contain. At the end of inFamous, Cole MacGrath was given a vision that the Beast would arrive into the world and that he alone could stop it. The safety of our species was put on his shoulders. No pressure right?

As you might imagine Cole would do anything in his power to get ready for the fight. He’s desperate to win, to save the lives of his friends and neighbors.

The developer finalized the Beasts’ details with:

But at the start of inFamous 2 he fails. The Beast arrives and Cole isn’t strong enough. He’s forced to run south to New Marais and prepare for a second, final encounter while his home, Empire City, is swallowed in flames.

inFamous 2 is currently scheduled for a release on June 7th in North America. The electrifying sequel will release in European territories a day later and will launch in the United Kingdom come June 10th.

we loved back at GDC. With a release this June, the ESRB has rated the title, describing several features of the game and explaining why it received a Teen rating.

The Entertainment Software Rating Board provided a lengthy description of their rating decision:

This is an action-adventure game in which players assume the role of Cole, a man who must stop a monster from destroying the planet. From a third-person perspective, players roam around ‘open-world’ environments and use element-based projectiles (e.g., lightning bolts, ice spikes, power grenades) to kill mutated monsters, animal-like creatures, and gun-toting soldiers. Combat is often frenetic and includes explosions, cries of pain, and brief blood splashes to indicate damage. Players have the ability to attack pedestrians wandering through the city and Bio Leech them while they are lying on the ground; this electrical attack sucks the life out of the injured character. In one comic book–style cutscene, a character uses a rifle butt to strike a civilian, resulting in a blood-splatter effect. As the game progresses, players can explore a red-light district that contains advertisements infused with sexual references/innuendo (e.g., ‘Sex,’ ‘Live Nude Girls,’ ‘Erotic Peep Show,’ and ‘Latch It and Skank’); some neon signs also depict silhouettes of pole dancers. During the course of the game, players can create their own missions and assign ‘drunk’ characteristics (e.g., ‘Happy,’ ‘Sloppy’) to non-playable characters; in one cutscene, two men are depicted drinking beer until they fall asleep. Another cutscene contains a brief drug reference (e.g., ‘What happened, old guy slip you a roofie?’). The words ‘sh*t’ and ‘b*tch’ can be heard in the dialogue.

Will you be picking up inFamous 2 on June 7th? Today’s no different as the developer has released a new batch of screenshots, as well as footage showcasing one of the sequel’s monsters, enemy types and much more.

PlayStation Blog gave an insight on the monster as well as new enemy types shown in the two new videos which can be viewed below:

First, a battle with the monster we call The Behemoth. If you remember way way back to our E3 demos last year, we hinted at the existence of this monster…Well, here’s your chance to see him! As far as inFAMOUS 2 goes, he’s one of the most important enemies we’ve built. We showed an early version of him at our very first greenlight meetings back in December 2009. Seems like a long time ago!

Second, we’ll show a mission called Forced Conduits. If you’ve been following along closely, you know that Conduits are people who are candidates to become super powered. But in this mission, we find out that someone has figured out how to somehow force ordinary people to become conduits… An interesting development in the narrative of inFAMOUS 2!

The intriguing mission editor tool feature is also displayed in the footage. Check the videos out below as well as the new screenshots.

inFamous 2, meanwhile, is scheduled for a launch on June 7th in North America. A European release date has yet to be confirmed.

The ‘inFAMOUS 2 Limited Release User Generated Content (UGC) Beta’ can sign up here starting on Monday March 14th at 12pm Noon Pacific Time and ending March 21st at 2pm Pacific, using the “Sign Up for the UGC Beta” link on the front page. An unspecified, but limited, number of entrants will then be chosen to participate in the Beta, starting April 12th.

Winners will be emailed a Wonka-style golden ticket, in early April. These ‘Beta Vouchers’ will be sent out in phases, so don’t panic if you hear that other people have already got a code. The UGC Beta sign up is only open to US residents, but there will be a separate process for some other territories.

The best part of getting into the beta isn’t simply that you’ll be able to get your hands on the game before anyone else, but the best missions, as chosen by Sucker Punch, will be used to auto-populate into every user’s game world on or near the launch day of the game.

[<a

Developer Sucker Punch and Sony are ready to electrify audiences again this year with the highly anticipated release of inFamous 2. We recently got hands on with inFamous 2‘s new weapons and new modes and we came away very impressed.

InFamous 2 takes place right after the events of the first game with Cole escaping Empire City and fleeing to New Marais, a city with a very New Orleans look to it. Cole is joined again by his friend Zeke as he tries to learn new abilities and discover the truth behind the Ray Sphere, the First Sons, and most importantly himself. Along the way to self discovery, Cole must fend off the hordes of Militia and Corrupted while being a savior or villain in the eyes of the public. The city of New Marais lends a lot more color to the game this time around with the city and its environments feeling a lot more vibrant through our play time. The people of the city also give the game even more depth as they feel a lot more alive this time around, reacting much better to Cole and the good or bad he is doing.

Environments are not the only thing we noticed receiving a boost the second time around. Cole himself looks a lot sharper, his powers feel a bit more powerful and he now carries around a nice looking weapon that does a number on anyone he comes across. The combat also looks and feels a lot more stylish with great effects and more feeling behind every strike. Most of the powers that we had at our disposal in our time with the game were from the original game but were all made to look new. Perhaps the coolest power came after doing enough damage, when you got a send a very cool looking tornado out at enemies directly in front of you.

The newest addition to inFamous 2 and the biggest part of our playthrough was with the newly announced User Generated Missions. Taking a page from the book of LittleBigPlanet, developer Sucker Punch is giving out the keys of their ride to anyone who wants to take a drive. Players will now get to make their own levels inside inFamous 2 using the same tools that the developer did. From what we were shown, the process of making your own level is fairly complex but we are sure with time people will get the hang of it. Levels are made by setting up a power grid full of cause and effect lines of power. With this you can set enemy behavior, spawn points, and many different scenarios.

<img

In fact in the game you are not limited to what type of mission you want to build, so if you are itching for a platforming section, then make it. These four that we played were a lot of fun and added a whole competitive aspect to the game as we raced to beat each others times and scores on the missions. Now if you don’t want to have to create a whole level for scratch, Sucker Punch has you covered with a remix mode. Here you can remix a level you like and change parts of it as you see fit. Each created mission can be rated by people who play the game and your goal should be to have a level played by as many people as possible. The great thing about the user generated levels in inFamous 2 is that you don’t have to go to a different part of the game to access them. Instead you can simply set a few filters by what kind of levels you want displayed and these will automatically populate across the world of New Marais.

InFamous 2 looks to be heading in the right direction for a sequel with tweaks across the board both visually and in terms of gameplay. The addition of user generated missions is icing on the top of an already delicious looking cake and it will be interesting to see just how far the community decides to run with it. With the beta coming soon we will get to see first hand just what type of levels people have up their sleeves and which ones make the cut, landing themselves on the retail version of the game when it ships June 7th for the PlayStation 3.

Check back with us for more coverage of inFamous 2 and look for our review near the release of the game this June.
<hr
