White Knight Chronicles II Confirmed for US Release

White Knight Chronicles filled the once empty void of RPGs plaguing the PS3. The game received plenty of praise from fans and critics, but never really took off. Since then, plenty of RPGs have released on the PS3 (just ask our resident RPG groupie, Cameron Teague). Developer Level-5 and SCEJ released a sequel in June of 2010, but the release was restricted to Japan with no plans for SCEA to bring it stateside. Another publisher has stepped in, and will be bringing White Knight Chronicles II to the US.

D3 Publisher has confirmed a North American release for White Knight Chronicles II. A date has not yet been set, but D3 Publisher has told IGN that a remastered copy of the first White Knight Chronicles will be included with every copy of White Knight Chronicles II.

10,000 years later, White Knight Chronicles Hits the PSP

In a gaming world dominated by ‘quasi-RPGS’, Level 5′s White Knight Chronicles series has been vastly underrated since it debuted last year. After having found residence on the PlayStation 3 console, it looks like the team at Level 5 is aiming to push the world of WKC onto the PlayStation Portable with White Knight Chronicles Episode Portable: Dogma Wars.

First off, as the name implies, the game’s setting takes place 10,000 years before the original game, which means The Dogma Wars are going on and the White Knight isn’t going to be your ally. As with the original WKC, you’ll create an avatar that will accompany you during both offline and online play. The interesting note is that Level 5 is NOT producing the PSP entry, but an internal team at SCEJ is instead. However, like we reported in June, Level 5 will be helping ’supervise’ the title. If you remember correctly, the White Knight Chronicles franchise is owned by SCEJ, not Level 5.

If you’re wondering why the WKC jumped ship to the PSP, it’s easy to explain. As some of you may know, portable gaming is huge in Japan due to mobile lifestyle that they live. Given that White Knight Chronicles is in fact a Japanese franchise, it’s a given that it’d eventually migrate over to the handheld world.

Although no news has been announced pertaining to a US or EU release of White Knight Chronicles 2, PlayStation LifeStyle will be here to tell you all about it and news regarding the PSP version of White Knight Chronicles when the times comes, so stay tuned.

Take Your White Knights With You

Get ready for more epic adventures on the go, White Knight Chronicles is coming to the PlayStation Portable.

Famitsu has just revealed the PS3 Role-Playing favorite White Knight Chronicles series was just announced to be coming to PSP. Temporarily titled as “White Knight Chronicles: New Project” (pretty original, don’t you think?), the game is being developed by Sony Computer Entertainment Japan. Don’t worry though, the concept work is still being headed up by Level-5. While White Knight Chronicles 2 is being released in Japan next month and is considered to be the end of the story arc, New Project is taking place in an entirely “new world.” According to the Famitsu article:

“Leonard’s story approaches a conclusion in White Knight Chronicles 2. This signals the end to the 10,000 year war between light and dark, known as the Dogma War. The PlayStation 3 White Knight Chronicles comes to a conclusion here. However, a completely new White Knight Chronicles starts. White Knight Chronicles New Project: A story of your avatar and new allies, told on the PlayStation Portable, is set to start in 2011.”

March is almost over and it has been a great month for games. With Yakuza 3, Final Fantasy XIII, Battlefield: Bad Company 2, God of War III, MLB 10: The Show, Mega Man 10, and Just Cause 2 releasing this month, we have all been very busy this month playing games. Here’s what everyone will be playing the last week of such a busy month.

I’m playing God of War III on Titan Mode and trying to earn the platinum trophy. I gotta say that I absolutely love this game and can’t put it down. I might also hop on Battlefield: Bad Company 2 for some online fun.

I will be finishing up Just Cause 2 and writing the review for it. Once I’m done with that, I’ll try to work toward completing the game 100%. There are so many collectibles in the game, I’ll probably be working towards 100% completion for weeks. I may pickup Just Cause 2, it looks like lots of fun. Definitely will check out the MAG DLC and maybe a little Battlefield: Bad Company 2. I still have another run through Dante’s to finish, but he hasn’t received much attention since Kratos arrived. My backlog grows!

Ryan Ordway – Technology Systems

I’m going to try to claw my way through Titan mode on GoW3 this weekend, then get back to some Ratchet and Clank: ACiT. I will probably also kick the tires of the new MAG trooper kit, I love the Raven APEX so I’m intrigued by the tweaked APEX. And it goes without saying there will be more MW2 and Monster Hunter Freedom Unite.

My weekend will consist of finishing up my Resonance of Fate review and then working on my Sonic and Sega All-Star Racing review. Plus a little bit of God of War III and Final Fantasy XIII thrown-in for good measure. Just don’t tell Cameron, ok?

White Knight Chronicles Offers Free DLC For a Limited Time

When White Knight Chronicles hit American soil early in February, Sony promised Level 5′s newest RPG would receive new DLC quest available soon after release. Fast forward to now and news has been released that new quest are on the way and will keep you entertained for quite a while.

I forgot to mention the best part of these new quest. There will be NEW quest starting this week, every week until the month of June..for FREE! Pay attention to the quest though– some will only be available for two weeks and others will be permanent, so make sure you don’t miss out on all the epic RPG freeness.

If you can’t decide whether or not to pickup White Knight Chronicles since Final Fantasy XIII just hit, make sure you read our WKC review. It’s a solid, quality PS3 Exclusive RPG that fans of the genre need not to miss.

Level 5 Bringing Surprises to the PS3

Level 5 have just recently released White Knight Chronicles here in the stats and are already hard at work on the sequel for the PS3. However they still have some tricks up their sleeve.

At a recent event at the C.C. Lemon Hall in Tokyo, Level 5′s CEO Akihiro Hino revealed that they have more unannounced PS3 games in the works.

No idea which games these could be but if you look at their track record, it could be the highly sought after Dark Cloud 3 or possibly Rogue Galaxy 2. Either of these games would be a welcome addition to any PS3 owners RPG library. Until Level 5 tells us otherwise, we are left to take wild stabs at what these unannounced PS3 titles might be.

On the PS3 side, there is only one release, but it is a very anticipated title (perhaps more than MAG from last week) from the talented developers at Level 5. White Knight Chronicles Trophy List Shines Bright

With just five days until release, Level 5′s White Knight Chronicles is getting plenty of attention for both its single-player and online campaigns. The Trophy List has been revealed, and there’s plenty to keep RPG fans busy.

With a total of 24 trophies, White Knight Chronicles: International Edition will be a nice boost to any trophy collection. 8 Bronze, 7 Silver, 8 Gold, and of course the king trophy, the Platinum trophy.

Bronze(8):

- Red Embroidered Pouch : A new purse given when you have amassed 100,0000 Gilda. The inside is full of hopes.
- Gold Medal : A medal given to an adventurer who has successfully risen to GR4 (Guild Rank 4). Given to show the guild leader’s encouragement.
- Gaman’s Stone : A hidden treasure given to anyone who has successfully synthesized 50 items. It’s a little bit soft, and almost looks as if it was made by a child.
- Seal of Pursuer: A seal given to you from a client. Only given to people who have successfully obtained an S rank in five quests.
- Bronze Horn Ornament: An ornament, in the shape of a monster’s horn. Given to anyone who has defeated 100 monsters
- Bronze Star: A medal given to anyone who has successfully mastered one weapon’s skills sets. A bronze glow is projected from your heart.
- Weapon Collector: A copper ornament, in the shape of a sword. Given to anyone that has collected 50 pieces of equipment.
- Item Searcher: A copper ornament, in the shape of a bag. Given to anyone that has collected 100 items.

Silver (7):

- Silver Embroidered Pouch: A new purse given when you have amassed 1,000,000 Gilda. The inside is full of hopes and dreams.
- Silver Medal: A medal given to an adventurer who has successfully risen to GR8 (Guild Rank 8). Given to show the guild leader’s admiration.
- Amanda’s Ruby: A hidden treasure given to anyone who has successfully synthesized 200 items. A firm Ruby apparently made by Madame Amanda.
- Seal of Elucidation: A seal given to you from a client. Only given to people who have successfully obtained an S rank in twenty quests.
- Silver Horn Ornament: An ornament, in the shape of a monster’s horn. Given to anyone who has defeated 3000 monsters.
- Weapon Maniac: A silver ornament, in the shape of a sword. Given to anyone that has collected 200 pieces of equipment.
- Item Maniac: A silver ornament, in the shape of a bag. Given to anyone that has collected 300 items.

Gold (8):

- Gold Medal: A medal given to an adventurer who has successfully risen to GR12 (Guild Rank 12). Given to show the guild leader’s deep affection.
- Gamarone’s Diamond:A hidden treasure given to anyone who has successfully synthesized 450 items. Gamaroneapparently had this diamond made in secrecy. It is a little bit sticky.
- Seal of Conquest: A seal given to you from a client. Only given to people who have successfully obtained an S rank in fifty quests.
- Golden Horn Ornament: An ornament, in the shape of a monster’s horn. Given to anyone who has defeated 10,000 monsters.
- Gold Star: A medal given to anyone who has successfully mastered eight weapon’s skills sets. A golden glow is projected from all of your skills.
- Weapon Collector: A gold ornament, in the shape of a sword. Given to anyone that has collected 500 pieces of equipment.
- Item Collector: A gold ornament, in the shape of a bag. Given to anyone that has collected 600 items.

Platinum:

- Platinum Crown: A Crown only an adventurer that has mastered everything can possess. Legend has it, that it was once owned by an ancient king.

While obtaining the Platinum doesn’t seem impossible, it will certainly take some time and dedication. White Knight Chronicles: International Edition hits next week, on February 2nd.

White Knight Chronicles Goes to War Without a Demo

White Knight Chronicles is releasing just around the corner on February 2 and many people might have been hoping for a demo to get a taste of game before they rushed to purchase. It looks like however those waiting on a demo will have to give up hope, as its been revealed that White Knight Chronicles will not have a playable demo released.

Over in the comments section on the Official PS Blog, Cristian Cardona, Associate Product Manager and Software Marketing has let it slip that there will not be a demo, though there is no reason given. Whatever the case, White Knight Chronicles looks to be an epic RPG, releasing exclusively to the PlayStation 3 next Tuesday.

White Knight Chronicles Invades LBP & More

After years of waiting, Level 5′s newest RPG spectacular, White Knight Chronicles: International finally hits next Tuesday, February 2nd. A major amount of media has been released and we have every juicy detail for you.

Where to start? Ok, let’s start with the first of ‘several’ dynamic themes that Sony has planned for White Knight Chronicles. The first, shown below, will hit the PSN next Thursday for the standard price of $2.99.

Fear The White Knight!

Next we have Trophy and PlayStation Home support. We all knew the title would feature trophies, as Sony made it mandatory after January 2009. We reported about the Home content last year, but Sony went one step further and clarified the content. By having a save on your system, you’ll receive a Free White Knight Figurine for your Home Space. There’s more though! If you unlock a ‘certain’ trophy during the game..you will receive this snazzy White Knight Suit of Armor for your Home Avatar! Only one problem…the rumored Trophy is the Platinum Trophy. Oh. Good luck with that!

Good news for LittleBigPlanet fans, White Knight Chronicles is invading Media Molecule’s Play, create, share title!!! Starting on February 25th, you will be able to purchase and download a WKC pack consisting of Leonard, the White Knight, The Black Knight,and the Dragon Knight. The character pack will also come with a sticker pack to help give your user-created levels more variety.

Sony Talks Online In White Knight Chronicles

The PlayStation 3 exclusive White Knight Chronicles, developed by Level-5 Studios, is one of the most talked about RPGs of the new year, looking to test all levels of gamers with its intriguing online component. Sony has recently been talking in detail about the RPGs online multiplayer component.

Sony has posted a video on the US PS blog discussing White Knight Chronicles‘ multiplayer with the producer of WKC International edition, Tsubasa Inaba.

When asked about what kind of trophies we can expect, Tsubasa Inaba didn’t want to give away too much, but hinted that some trophies may unlock some new items in PlayStation Home.

White Knight Chronicles will be released on February 2 for North America, with a recently announced February 26 release for Europe.

White Knight Slices Europe With Release Date & Box Art

The PlayStation 3 exclusive White Knight Chronicles developed by Level-5 Studios, instantly made it’s mark on the RPG market with it’s release in Japan a year back. Europe will now experience the exclusive as the release date and box art has been revealed.

SCEE have revealed the official release date for the European release of exclusive, White Knight Chronicles. The RPG will be making it’s European entrance on February 26, 2010. A few more weeks after the North American release.

From the developers of Rogue Galaxy and the Dark Cloud series, the spectacular RPG will include more than one could imagine, with the RPG to reach 100 online quests, giving you countless hours of enjoyment.

Along with the official release date, Sony revealed the box art entitled for Europe:
