Blu-Ray has been suffering from a great deal of media backlash. Combine the bad press with the current lack of information that a great deal of consumers have about the format and you have a great deal of uncertainty. Blu-Ray is doing very well in reality. In fact, Futuresource Consulting is predicting that 100 million units of our favorite format will be sold worldwide in 2009 based on its current pace. This is rather impressive. Last year, there were 36 million Blu-Rays sold world wide. This is quite an increase. We can only hope that this prediction turns out to be true.
