Yes, you read that right. The ever-popular Rock Band series is coming to the PSP. Developer Backbone Entertainment (1942: Joint Strike, Super Street Fighter II Turbo HD Remix) will be spearheading this venture, while EA will publish it. There will be no peripheral as the game will be played using only the PSP’s buttons.

So, how will this control? Well, quite similarly to PlayStation 2 titles like Amplitude or Frequency. You play one track, which can be guitar, bass, drums or even vocals, and can switch between them using the shoulder buttons. Then simply hit Left, Up, Triangle, or Circle in time with the onscreen notes as the song you’ve chosen plays on.

Since the track selection makes or breaks games like these, expect to see a full list on PSLS when that information is released. Known artists to be included are: Blink 182, Boston, AFI, Kansas, Lit, and The Police. Don’t discount this version of the game from having DLC, either, as it will apparently have a built-in store that you can use in much the same way as you would on a console version. However, multiplayer will not be featured this time around.
