ArsTechnica has gotten word from a fairly reliable source that Sony’s new PSP title, Patapon 2, is rumored to be a PSN download only title. Instead, retailers will carry game cases that only include the online voucher. The retail version will cost $5 more, so as to give them the revenue margin they expect. But again, how are customers going to react to this?
If Patapon 2 is indeed download-only, that means every person who buys the game will need a wireless connection of some sort, as well as a PSN account with valid means of payment (if they avoid retail). What the staff at PSLS would like to know is how this affects you guys, and whether you would be fine with this distribution method for other PSP titles as well.
