After being unveiled in the latest issue of Famitsu, Sega has released the official site for Valkyria Chronicles 2. Within the site are new screenshots and a developer blog, which gives some of the first details of the game.
Via the site’s blog, Shuntaro Tanaka, Chief Producer for the game, indicated that, contrary to growing belief, Valkyria Chronicles 2 is a true sequel to the first iteration, and that the development team is giving all their effort into making this game. Featuring all new characters and a new setting, the game takes place two years after the original.
As to why the game the is releasing on the PSP only, Tanaka revealed that the hope was to expose the series to a greater variety of users. Furthermore, Tanaka was quick to point out that although the series is headed to the PSP, the battle system will be similar to the original.
Sega is planning on releasing Valkyria Chronicles 2 for the PSP, this Winter.
