Midway, which was bought by Warner Bros. back in May, is now receiving $49 million for its buyout. For the Midway studio in Chicago, there is good news as well as bad news.
The good news is that 100 of those employees will be taken in by Warner. The bad news? The rest of them have been given a two-month notice. This includes Chief Executive Matt Booty. Midway’s Newcastle studio is now closed, while the San Diego studio is still up for grabs. This latest cut represents approximately 20 percent of all Midway employees.
