Speaking at an interview during last week’s San Diego Comic Con, Uncharted 2’s Creative Director, Amy Hennig, detailed Naughty Dog’s plans on the multiplayer and cooperative aspects of the game. And in addition to this, she explained how her team plans on expanding those respective modes through downloadable content.
“One of the great things about the multiplayer and the co-op is that it gives us great opportunities to expand the experience for players with downloadable content, unlockables, things like that.”
Henning then went on to say:
“Which of course you don’t really do with the single-player game that much. We tried to pack a lot of value into the first game in terms of unlockables, but with that online component the game can kind of keep growing, especially based on players’ feedback too.”
Downloadable content for Uncharted 2 was originally confirmed by lead designer Neil Druckmann, but he did not go into specifics. Uncharted 2: Among Thieves is hitting North American shelves October 13th. At this time, Naughty Dog has yet to unveil an official European release date.
