If this rumor has anything to suggest, it’s that the PS3 is slowly making it’s way out of Japan, for brand new ones, that is. With the 20GB, 40GB, and 60GB now discontinued in the land of the rising sun, what’s next?
A recent notice from retailer 7-Eleven (which does sell video games in Japan), pre-orders for the Black, White, and Silver 80GB PS3 will cease on Sunday, August 9th at 10:00 AM. The reason for this cease is “For the manufacturer”, which you could guess what that means.
The notice has also stated that all in-store displays for the 80GB PS3 are to be taken down. If this is then true, does that mean Japan is making way for the 160GB PS3? Or maybe even the PS3 Slim?
