Ever since the titanic announcement at GamesCom 2009, demand for the PS3 Slim has been at a feverish pitch. And quite surprisingly, consumers around the United States are reporting that the PS3 Slim, which was supposed to debut on September 1st, is now available at GameStop retailers.
According to rumors, Sony decided to release the PS3 Slim a few days early to combat the recently announced Xbox 360 Elite price drop. Whether or not that is true, there is no doubt that the PS3 Slim is now available for purchase in stores. In fact, the GameStop website has the unit listed as available to ship starting today.
