SOCOM Fireteam Bravo 3 will not be ready for deployment until January 12th, 2010. Developed by Slant Six Games, the game’s multiplayer features have been recently detailed, and it sounds as robust as ever.
The game will sport 16-player competitive multiplayer across eight custom maps and through seven new game modes, each with different objectives. A new “Leader Mode” allows for a player to be designated as a Squad Leader, and players can respawn within the vicinity of the leader provided he is alive. A new “Tug-of-War” mode allows players to drain points from their enemies to collect tickets.
This multiplayer can be played locally via ad-hoc or globally via infrastructure wireless connections. Since up to 16 players can compete simultaneously, you can expect to witness filled battlefields and epic assaults. Infrastructure mode also supports “a number of expanded online community features including tournaments, clan challenges and ladders, voice chat and character customization.” So even though this game is on a handheld platform it looks as though developer Slant Six is attempting to give it a full console experience.
