During their meeting to discuss first half numbers of their ’09-10 fiscal year, Ubisoft CEO Yves Guillemot eluded to his company’s heavy involvement in Sony‘s motion controller. Although not much, it is a good sign, and should relieve worried gamers of lack of 3rd party support.
According to Guillemot, Ubisoft is currently working on 4-5 games for Sony’s motion controller. Whether these are completely new intellectual properties or in fact updates to previously released games, is not yet certain. However, it was further explained that Guillemot may have been referring to more casual, not hardcore games.
His response to the initial report:
“I didn’t count the games in fact that are supporting the new functions that those accessories will bring. I was more speaking about casual games that we are doing on those two [PS3 and 360] machines; we can consider that on those games it’s 70 percent new property.”
