Quantum Theory, Tecmo‘s latest attempt to squeeze into the popular shooter market in the West, was for the longest time proudly touted as a PlayStation 3 exclusive. It looks like things have changed.
Tecmo recently issued a press release stating that “QUANTUM THEORY™ will be a multiplatform release on the PlayStation®3 computer entertainment system and the Xbox 360®video game and entertainment system from Microsoft.” No reason has been given for the sudden change of heart for this Japanese developer towards releasing this game as a multiplatform title, but it really is anyone’s guess at this point.
For the uninitiated, Quantum Theory is a third-person shooter with a world that constantly shifts due to combat that takes place in a living, breathing tower. It has drawn comparisons to the popular Gears of War franchise even though it is Japanese-developed.
