The age of 3D gaming is quickly approaching, with Sony leading the charge. Many gamers may be wondering if the AAA blockbuster titles Sony has slated for 2010 will get the 3D treatment to compliment their high production value.
In an interview with NowGamer, we can at least confirm that one game is looking to take full advantage of the opportunity. While it may not make it into the initial release of God of War III, Stig Asmussen, director of the game, is hoping to push Kratos to his 3D limits if permitted.
Commenting on the possibility of a 3D God of War III, Stig states the following:
It will not be in God Of War III unless someone is sneaking something in that I don’t know about. But if it’s really easy to do and there’s an interest there’s no reason why we couldn’t discuss in the future adding a patch or re-releasing the game to work with the 3D stuff. I’d love to see it happen. I think it would be cool as sh*t.
We know they want it, and come the release of the newest line of 3D televisions, we’re probably going to want it, too. After all, what could top the experience of having the gore of a thousand and one deadly Athenian minions sprayed in our face? Nothing… that’s what. We’ll be sure to keep you posted if we hear anything further regarding the addition of 3D play in God of War III.
