Details just keep trickling in regarding Sega’s top secret new Sonic title codenamed “Project Needlemouse”. Well, just a short while ago a domain was created… a domain created by Brandon Laurino, director of online and community relations at Sega. What is this domain you may ask? Well, it’s none other than SonicTheHedgehog4.com (along with the .net and .org iterations), which currently redirects you to Sega’s official website. This all but confirms the hopes and dreams of Sonic fans around the world, that we will see a proper sequel in form of a ‘Sonic 4’ or possibly a new Sonic Adventure game (although Sonic Adventure is doubtful since this new game looks to be heading in the 2D direction).
Those who have played any of the Sonic Adventure games should immediately recognize Mission Street, which not only appears as a playable level in the Sonic games, but is also home to Sega of America in San Francisco. Although this all seems completely plausible, and it probably is, take it with a grain of salt. Details are still being investigated and we’ll be sure to let you know if we hear anything further.
