Rebellion Wants To Do An AvP Sequel

Aliens vs. Predator released on multiple platforms a handful of days ago, to very average scores. Despite this, the game has sold faster than any game so far in 2010 in the UK. Game developer Rebellion Developments is already talking about a sequel.

Rebellion’s Jason Kingsley stated “We’re delighted to see the game shoot to the top of the UK charts…We wanted Aliens Versus Predator to be a critical success as well as a commercial success, which we think we have achieved.” Later, it was revealed that they would like to do a sequel:

“We’re also in discussions with Sega about ongoing support for AvP, and also about a sequel to the game…I won’t say what stage those negotiations are in, but we would love to revisit the franchise. Fox are excited about what we’re doing, and we feel we’ve added value to the franchise…We would love to work with Sega again, there were a lot of things we couldn’t fit into the original. We are trying to do all the right things to make the franchise a success now and in the future.”

So fans of the series, and especially fans of this entry in the long line of Aliens/Predator games, can get their hopes up a little bit. However, it is important to note that no sequel has been announced yet – SEGA and Fox are likely waiting to see how the current game sells everywhere else first.
