Remakes, or reboots, of game titles are becoming more and more common as gaming console’s technical prowess is increased with each new generation. This allows developers to realize their past creations with much more detail, scale and polish. Just ask Capcom, who just recently published a remake of the well-known Bionic Commando. Now following in their footsteps, Konami is set to remake a classic 1980s video game as well.
Rush’n Attack: Ex-Patriot, is currently in development at Czech studio Vatra Games, the new studio working on the latest Silent Hill title. The PSN title is a remake of the 1985 classic, Rush’n Attack (get the pun?), in which you played a United States special operations soldier, who has infiltrated an enemy base. The game’s ultimate goal was for the player to help save captured POW’s (prisoner of war), who were to be executed by firing squad. Since this is a remake, we can expect the same story, plus the series’ tradition of the main character’s trademark weapon – his knife. The new remake will feature:
* Stealth Combat Action – Using both stealth and brute force, players will escape from their imprisonment with a new level of action
* Fast Paced Platforming – Stay sharp and move quickly as you progress towards your objectives through challenging platforming
* Massive Levels – Fight your way through three environments with multiple levels full of hidden items, secret locations, and relentless soldiers trying to track you down
* Killer Graphics – Built on the Unreal Engine, players will have a visual feast that is unparalleled in other downloadable games.
