THQ Rivaling EA Partners

With EA racking up indie developers, most notably Valve, Harmonix and more recently Insomniac, they have churned out popular game franchises such as Rock Band. THQ looks to be following suit by launching their own “partner” section unsurprisingly called THQ Partners, and their aim is to reach out to independent developers and use THQ as a launch platform.

In an interview with CVG, Vice President of the newly formed sector said,

“I’m extremely pleased to join THQ and launch THQ Partners,”

“I’m looking forward to working with a select number of world-class developers and publishers to distribute their great games through our global network.”

Also Executive Vice President of THQ Global Publishing Ian Curran had this to say about this exciting new division,

“THQ Partners is charged with maximizing the efficiencies of our global distribution network by enhancing our product offerings with quality games from developers and publishers who don’t have the benefit of our extensive retail and online sales operations,”

This looks to be an exciting new prospect for the indie developer community, and they most certainly will be at E3 looking for studios to sign, as always, stick with PlayStation LifeStyle as we’ll be covering everything, and we mean everything, at the upcoming E3 expo.
