CoD: Black Ops Igniting Co-op

Call of Duty: Black Ops, successor to CoD: World at War has been turning a lot of heads with its promises of “something new” and something “beyond expectation”. Treyarch has revealed that Call of Duty: Black Ops will contain a “unique” co-op experience as well as the standard single player and multiplayer modes.

Treyarch Studio Head Mark Lamia has stated at an Activision press conference that:

“The game will also feature distinct multiplayer and co-op modes, and though specifics regarding our co-op mode have not yet been revealed I can tell you that we’ll be delivering a unique online co-op mode for up to four players, with local split-screen for two.”

“We very much listened to what people said about the Zombies gameplay that we made for World at War,” said Lamia in an interview with GamerZines later, “and while we haven’t announced what our co-op mode is, I think regardless that’s a co-op gameplay mode and there are a lot of things to garner from that.”

Call of Duty: Black Ops is set in the Cold War, as players assume the roles Black Ops soldiers involved in missions behind enemy lines, taking place in various locations such as Vietnam. Call of Duty: Black Ops launches November 9th check out the game’s latest trailer.
